Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Misplaced Pages. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Misplaced Pages:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Misplaced Pages:

The Misplaced Pages tutorial is a good place to start learning about Misplaced Pages. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! On citing yourself or persons you know

Dear AceUofT,

Thank you for your contributions to Misplaced Pages!

I see that a rather large number of your edits cite a person with the initials S.V. as a source. Please be aware of the potential conflict of interest and the restrictions on citing yourself or persons you know.

I would also like to point out that edits should only be marked as minor when there is no change in meaning and/or when there is zero chance that someone will disagree with it, such as for spelling corrections, technical fixes, reverting obvious vandalism, etc. Other changes, even if they concern only one or two words, should never be marked as 'minor'.

Thank you for your attention, and happy editing!

Misplaced Pages and copyright

Control copyright icon Hello AceUofT! Your additions to Arya Samaj have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Misplaced Pages:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Misplaced Pages, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Misplaced Pages:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Misplaced Pages:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Misplaced Pages, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Misplaced Pages. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Misplaced Pages:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Misplaced Pages articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Misplaced Pages project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Misplaced Pages:Copying within Misplaced Pages. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 15:19, 24 June 2021 (UTC)

I'm not sure whether this relates to the same content removed by Diannaa, but several others edits you made around the same time (, , , , and perhaps others) also seem to be too closely paraphrased (e.g. "the caste no longer had any jurisdiction over their actions" is too close to the source's "the caste no longer had jurisdiction over their actions"). We need this to be rewritten entirely in your own words. I hope you understand. Thanks! ☿ Apaugasma (talk ) 15:50, 24 June 2021 (UTC)

June 2021

Information icon Hello, I'm Notfrompedro. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Ahl al-Bayt have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Misplaced Pages as a "soapbox" are against Misplaced Pages policy and not permitted; Misplaced Pages articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Misplaced Pages. Please read WP:REFSPAM Notfrompedro (talk) 16:56, 24 June 2021 (UTC)

Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Misplaced Pages, as you did to Esoteric interpretation of the Quran. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Misplaced Pages is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Notfrompedro (talk) 16:58, 24 June 2021 (UTC)

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you use Misplaced Pages for promotion or advertising, as you did at Satan. Notfrompedro (talk) 17:11, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
