The marriage was to prove very happy and they had seven children, although the first was stillborn. Law’s interest in politics had grown stronger throughout the 1890s, and a large inheritance enabled him to run for Parliament. One of her children, Isabel H. Law, married Major General Sir ], the military commander, politician and statesman.
