Orphaned fair use image (Image:ActBrowser.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:ActBrowser.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Re: The use of an award win to describe a subject.

And just when I thought I should give up editing articles on celebrities I don't care about to make them read less like hagiographies :)...Fortunately, not all of the pop culture biographies are like that, but there's so many that are that editors unfamiliar with the NPOV policy and lead section guidelines will think that it's okay (or even in compliance with the policies and guidelines) to introduce someone or something as "-winning". I agree that this issue needs to be brought to the attention of other editors. Extraordinary Machine 22:34, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Another Emico sockpuppet

Sorry I haven't really had the time lately, happy new year and all the best. Unfortunately, Emico has returned with a rather classless attack on my userpage. Here's his sock account:User:Onlytofind2--Ironbrew 04:21, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Welcome

Hi, WikiLeon, and welcome to the San Francisco Bay Area task force!

We are a growing community of Misplaced Pages editors dedicated to identifying, categorizing, and improving articles relevant to the Bay Area. Here are some points that may be helpful:

  • Our main aim is to help improve Bay Area-related articles, so if people ask for help with an article, please try your hardest to help them if you are able.
  • Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page. It is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
  • The project has several ongoing and developing activities, such as article quality assessment, which you are welcome to participate.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.

Again, welcome! We hope you enjoy working on this project. ~~~~

Jumpaclass

This is an invitation to use WP:BAY's Jumpaclass option for improving articles. If you're working on any Bay Area-related stub, start, or B-class articles, simply add their names to the list, and if any of the articles improve a class within a week, you'll be recognized for your contributions. If you have any questions about how it works, post on the talk page or on mine. Thanks for reading! — Emiellaiendiay 21:36, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Christina Aguilera

I was referring to the album after Back To Basics. I know Back To Basics hasn't been out long, but sometimes artists release two records in a year. I'm hungry for new material! 80.43.64.204 16:00, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Sources on Christina Aguilera.

With the MariahCharts.com sources, I have only been fixing references on the Christina Aguilera article. I have not added any sources. However, I did remove two references on the article that came from Answers.com, and I didn't consider them to be reliable sources, as Answers.com often takes information that's on Misplaced Pages. Block not showing?

Hello WikiLeon. I noticed an IP you recently posted a block message on their talk page yet they have no block shown in their block history. I tried refreshing my page's cache but I still do not see anything. Are you sure you blocked them?¤~Persian Poet Gal 20:00, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Tila Nguyen

Hi, Leon.

There's a problem about the Tila Nguyen page. Although I have no live references to what I've added on it, I assure you, they're all facts. I'm Ivan of Alief, Houston, TX, and as far as I'm concerned, people here are starting to look down upon Misplaced Pages for providing such false information about her since Misplaced Pages is used heavily here for researching. This is why it led me to alter the page and provide sufficent data. I do have the hard copy of the middle school and high school year Tila was in and would use it to put on Misplaced Pages. However, I am concerned about the copyrights of the schools and privacy act that have been enforced upon it. Another problem is that there seems to be another user that's altering the page consecutively and using false information about Tila based on phony websites. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ivanaiden (talkcontribs) 07:59, 24 February 2007 (UTC).

Hm, I know I've reported names similar to "God of Death" to AIV before and they've always been blocked. Oh well, I'm going to sleep. John Reaves (talk) 08:50, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

The edit prior to yours on Christina Aguilera

Hello, the editor prior to you on CA changed a lot of her links to what look like spam sites to me. I submitted a report on him to the WP:AIV but am unsure what has been done about him or the personal attack I saw on his talkpage User talk:Truth005. Nothing has changed on his talkpage. Thanks, Morenooso 07:03, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

BTW, I was unsure how to reverse his edit without affecting yours. Morenooso 07:04, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
Cool! Learned something tonight. I just saw the block symbol appear on his talkpage. I guess his tirade has to stay, huh? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Morenooso (talkcontribs) 07:24, 25 February 2007 (UTC).
