The editor making the "clarifications" is not doing so from a neutral point of view or with adequate references. The most recent editor username is "harveytj", which most likely is Tim Harvey who is Colin Angus's past expedition partner. They parted ways during the circumnavigation expedition and their relationship was acrimonious. Harveytj has removed large chunks of the biography, which are referenced and accurate, and replaced them with information that is attempting to diminish Angus's endevour.
The claim of a circumnavigation is not absurd, it does not contradict logic, nor is it fallacious or unethical. National Geographic Adventure recognized the circumnavigation and awarded Angus the Adventurer of the Year Award for this expedition.(http://press.nationalgeographic.com/pressroom/index.jsp?pageID=pressReleases_detail&siteID=1&cid=1163531707116) Guinness created guidelines seven months after the completion of the expedition. These guidelines do not require antipodes but require an equator crossing, which Angus' expedition did not have, and thus Angus' circumnavigation would not be eligible for a Guinness record. (http://www.angusadventures.com/guinness_rules_circumnavigation_by_human%20power.pdf) When the expedition began the only guidelines for circumnavigations over land and water where by the FAI and those were followed. (http://www.angusadventures.com/circumnavigations.html)
Furthermore, Harveytj uses the biography to draw attention to his friend Jason Lewis, who is attempting a human powered circumnavigation, but inaccurately states that his will be a true human-powered circumnavigation (his does not conform to Guinness guidelines or most other circumnavigation guidelines).
It seems contrary to Misplaced Pages standards to allow someone with an acrimonious relationship to the biography subject to edit the biography in such a manner.

This page is subject to controversy. It appears that several parties are correcting the contents, while another party changes the edits and flags the edits (which are in fact clarifications) as "vandalism".
The problem is, this person - the one screaming "vandalism" - is in fact serving the interests of the subject (Colin Angus, and is probably him) which are dubious. Claim of a circumnavigation of the world is utterly absurd and not only contradicts Guinness Book guidelines, but it contradicts logic and[REDACTED] definition which stipulates that a circumnavigation of a globe must touch antipodes.
Therefore, the subject defending Colin Angus is in fact entering fallacious and unethical information, degrading wikipedia, doing all users a disservice, and embarrassing Angus by undermining his own credibility in the adventure community. 139.142.98.135 (talk · contribs) 12:43, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
