The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Misplaced Pages, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its ] and view its ] .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
* To the football and rugby editors who have done stirling work in keeping abreast of the top clubs.

; Aims

After discussion at ] in April 2008.

'''Specific aims''' for the project are:-

*To complete tagging and assessment of all Yorkshire related articles (See below)
*To recruit more active editors (See Member News)
*To bring our top level article ] up to ] status
*To bring all other top priority articles (currently 15 with 2 at FA) to at least ] status
*To set up a weekly or monthly selected article improvement drive (See this month's feature below)
*To produce a regular news letter for circulation to members

and apropos of the above a '''2010 New Year''' article improvement drive/collaboration is being organised.

;'''Priority Articles'''

The '''top priority articles''' that have been identified to date are as follows -

* ] • ] • ] • ] • ] • ] • ] • ] • ] • ] • ] • ] • ] • ] • ] • ]

The number has been kept deliberately low to give us a fighting chance of improving them to at least GA status, also so we can concentrate our efforts on these first.

Consensus against using caps as a determinator of notability

In a number of recent AfD's you have argued "Keep - He has an international cap therefore he is undoubtedly notable" or similar. These arguments were rejected in WP:NSPORT2022, and continuing to argue them is disruptive and can result in WP:LOCALCON issues. Please stop doing so; if you believe that international caps are sufficient for notability I encourage you to open an RfC proposing that this criteria is restored to WP:NSPORT. Leeds Misplaced Pages meetup on Saturday 4th May

Hello there! Interested in having a chat with fellow Wikipedians? There's a meetup in Leeds on Saturday 4th May 2024, at the Tiled Hall Café at Leeds Central Library.

Full details here.

You're receiving this one-off message as you're either a member of WikiProject Yorkshire, you've expressed an interest in a previous Leeds meetup years ago, or (for about 4 of you), we've met :)

I plan to organise more in future, so if you'd like to be notified next time, please say so over on the meetup page.

Please also invite any Wikimedia people you know (or have had wiki dealings with) – spread the word! Hope to see you there.

Move review

For higher chances of success try to summarize your entry as much as possible. And highlight how the movers have not proved how this is the common name in RS in contrast with the more prevalently used longer version. Makeandtoss (talk) 15:39, 23 June 2024 (UTC)

Thanks for the advise. I am, however, terrible at making things concise haha. I have added the bit about the shorter title not being the common name to the longer version of the title. Kind regards IJA (talk) 15:50, 23 June 2024 (UTC)

Invitation to participate in a research

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Misplaced Pages, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team
