Hi Malik, Your improvements to the ] page caught my attention. To my interest, my research has turned up that ] was strongly influenced by CRT some years ago and is the only one on the Supreme Court with this in her history. During the last week, I have been adding material from 3 new books on the Roberts court to her page and am almost done. Because of her unique background, I thought to ask you if the article is anywhere close to an upgrade by peer evaluation. She would be the first woman on the Supreme Court to reach the highest level of peer evaluation at Misplaced Pages. Possibly you could give the article a once over when/if time allows to let me know if this unique judge deserves this attention. I ask this only if this field is of interest to you and if time allows. ] (]) 00:29, 19 July 2014 (UTC)

:::Since a simple apology for the original sin against him won't be forthcoming, and that would, I hazard, be the only persuasive thing that might make him reconsider, the only helpful thing here would be a collective effort to write an historical essay summarizing as stringently and neutrally as possible how this punitive domino effect began, with a sockpuppet's harassment. And once sandboxed out, leave it on this abandoned page just to set the record straight, vindicate our lost editor's honour, and enable those who wonder what it was all about catch the drift in an overview. MS certainly deserves such a pittance of commemorative justice, and as a practice I don't see why it wouldn't turn out set a useful precedent for writing up cases in wikispace where bad administrative judgment can be shown to have catastrophic effects. It might teach that body to listen to the community, rather than rule it. ] (]) 15:00, 4 June 2019 (UTC)

:The obstacle in your way, as Malik has already pointed out, is the Manual of Style and its list of . Use of labels such as terrorism tends to be highly subjective. If you can pick out organisations which you wouldn't see as terrorist but others would, you might see the value of the ruling given in the Manual of Style. :::1: "Are you serious?" Yes. 2: You're trying to impose one particular viewpoint as fact, which I consider an act more worthy of being labelled 'propagandistic'. 3: Personally, I, along with what I would consider all sane sources, consider the Irgun to have been a terrorist organisation. Further, I consider the particular strain of murderous, fascistic, ethnochauvinistic nationalism which motivated it to be putrid and abhorrent. However, I don't consider I have a licence to impose my own views in that regard on Misplaced Pages articles in contravention of its ethos and policy. 4: "Does that mean you do not use the word terrorist?" For starters, we are concerned with what reliable sources say, not popular, or unpopular, opinion. As the saying goes, one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. Can you prove that there are no reliable sources that would argue that the Irgun didn't practise terrorism? Unless you can, I think that we should abide by what the Manual of Style says about using the label 'terrorism'. <span style="font-family: Perpetua, serif; font-size:120%"> ← ] </span> 10:57, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

::That's not true. You'll find the same is true in articles about Palestinian militants as well. — ] ]/] 02:08, 2 August 2014 (UTC)
::"I notice both of you seem to only take this stance pro-Israel." In what way? You might like to have a look at . By the way, when Malik wrote, "instead, we write that so-and-so described them as terrorists," I think that he was referring to the articles on particular groups, not suggesting that it was alright to insert text stating that some country or body viewed or views that group as a terrorist organisation wherever it is mentioned in Misplaced Pages. These things work both ways: if you're going to go around doing that for Zionist terror organisations, then you should also do it for the many organisations and people that Jewish Israelis consider to be terrorist. <span style="font-family: Perpetua, serif; font-size:120%"> ← ] </span> 09:14, 2 August 2014 (UTC)

Some time ago I decided to focus 99-plus percent of my efforts here solely on article improvement and eschew virtually everything else. While it has no doubt saved me untold amounts of stress and ire, it obviously has its drawbacks too. Sadly I missed all of this. During my nascent days at this project, when I had quickly developed a deep disgust for adminship-culture, you stood out to me as an anomaly: a circumspect, principled individual as well as editor, who didn't view his or her bit as a phallus. (I would later come to learn, while few and far between, there were other administrators with integrity as well.) I didn't always agree with you, but I always found your character to be beyond reproach. I was equally, if not more impressed with your work as an editor; not only were you a prolific contributor, you worked daily in some of the most heated, contentious areas of the project {{ndash}} articles I wouldn't dream of working on as anything but a copy-editor. All of this, along with the egregiously mitigatory provocation, should have been given proper weight in the original case that caused you to lose your administratorship; had it been, censure should been the harshest measure even on the table. Now this; as passionate as I am about this project, there are times when I am truly embarrassed to be associated with it. I wish I had learned of this months ago, when you would have been more likely to see this message. I hope you know how valued you were here. I'm proud to have worked beside you, friend. In part 51 of The Time and What Must Be Done webcast lecture series, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan revealed to the world an aspect of his personal faith and belief. He said that he believes that his teacher, the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad is not dead, but is alive. In part 51, the Minister’s word were, “Brothers and sisters, since 1981 I have been saying to the world that Elijah Muhammad is not dead! He is Alive. I am saying to the world that Elijah Muhammad is “The Messiah” that The Qur’an is speaking of. I am saying to the world what The Qur’an says of The Messiah: He escaped a death plot against him. Of course, you still may hold on to your thought “Elijah Muhammad is dead”—but how could he be dead, and he speak to me on The Wheel? This is incredible…”

Warm wishes
I understand your desire to step away from a while, but I hope that you will return when the time is right for you. Thank you for all of your excellent contributions over the years. Cullen Let's discuss it 22:00, 3 June 2019 (UTC)
- Absolutely. Malik should never have been de-sysopped in the first place. Admins working in the I-P area need a thick skin and a quick brain – and Malik was one of the best. Malik, I hope you'll come back again some day. Best wishes, NSH001 (talk) 06:57, 4 June 2019 (UTC)
- Don't know what to say really, except to pitifully echo the warm thoughts expressed by others. Best wishes whatever you decide to do eventually. Pincrete (talk) 13:27, 4 June 2019 (UTC)
- Since a simple apology for the original sin against him won't be forthcoming, and that would, I hazard, be the only persuasive thing that might make him reconsider, the only helpful thing here would be a collective effort to write an historical essay summarizing as stringently and neutrally as possible how this punitive domino effect began, with a sockpuppet's harassment. Nishidani (talk) 15:00, 4 June 2019 (UTC)

AfroCine: Join the Months of African Cinema this October!
Greetings!
After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Misplaced Pages articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.
The AfroCine Project welcomes you to October, the first out of the two months which have been dedicated to creating and improving content that centre around the cinema of Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora. Join us in this global edit-a-thon, by helping to create or expand articles which are connected to this scope. Also remember to list your name under the participants section.
On English Misplaced Pages, we would be recognizing participants in the following manner:
- Overall winner (1st, 2nd, 3rd places)
- Diversity winner
- Gender-gap fillers
For further information about the contest, the recognition categories and how to participate, please visit the contest page here. For further inquiries, please leave comments on the contest talkpage or on the main project talkpage. See you around :).--Jamie Tubers (talk) 00:50, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Oh shit
I was equally, if not more impressed with your work as an editor; not only were you a prolific contributor, you worked daily in some of the most heated, contentious areas of the project – articles I wouldn't dream of working on as anything but a copy-editor. Best, Joefromrandb (talk) 03:25, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
- Yepp, still miss you, MS. Hope you are doing well, whatever you spend your time on....best wishes, Huldra (talk) 20:54, 28 October 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Godmoma albums
A tag has been placed on Category:Godmoma albums requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines.

Always precious
Ten years ago, you were found precious. That's what you are, always, gone but not forgotten. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:14, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
Douglas Lifeboat Station
I'm hoping to create a page for Douglas Lifeboat Station. I'm am directed to ask you first? MartinOjsyork (talk) 22:53, 2 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Ojsyork: Malik retired a long while ago. It appears his previous page deletion of Douglas Lifeboat Station was for a clear copyright infringement, so I can't undelete the page for you to work on, but you're free to start a new page from scratch. You should be able to do so, I don't think the page was protected from recreation. If you run into problems, let me know. -- Floquenbeam (talk) 16:30, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
- Many thanks for the message.
- Page is done and live
