Per discussion at WP:ANI#Wikignosis_block_for_legal_threat I am submitting this here since consensus has not established that WP:DUCK applies. The account's main activity has been to abuse WP:BLP while writing "per Jimbo Wales" in edit notes. I indef blocked on 20 April as a probable JB196 sockpuppet/meatpuppet due to policy abuse at wrestling topics. Received a polite request for unblock afterward and decided to give the benefit of the doubt. Disruption promptly resumed and the account got indef blocked for borderline legal threats regarding Daniel Brandt. That block got upheld upon appeal, but another sysop reversed it during the noticeboard discussion and now he's blocked for a week for incivility. Upon further consideration I've decided to run this as a MyWikiBiz request. Durova 23:31, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Code letter:F Suspected of sockpuppet evasion of a ban by Jimbo Wales.

MyWikiBiz has requested that the community restore editing privileges to one of his acknowledged accounts User:Thekohser. The thread is at WP:CN#Unblock_of_Thekohser.3F. Suspected of attempting to manipulate his own ban discussion on the IP address. Although this meets the threshold for blocking as obvious sockpuppetry, this particular user has persuaded mainstream journalists that Misplaced Pages treated him unfairly. See this for a heavily spun story that ran in the Associated Press on 24 January 2007. In case the user attempts to follow up with a similar story it would be good to have a checkuser result to formally confirm that the community handled his case appropriately. He is a professional public relations entrepreneur so I think it would be good for Misplaced Pages to cover all our bases. Durova 03:59, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

BTW the checkusers may review my relevant correspondence with Brian Bergstein, who was the journalist who wrote January's AP story. Contact me privately if necessary. Durova 04:10, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
Clerk note: in the event that Durova isn't available when a checkuser wishes to decide on this check, I have also got a copy of the email correspondance Durova mentions. If needed, my copy will be forwarded. Cheers, Daniel Bryant 05:23, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
Additional edits by the IP to the block discussion. Note that in the latter the IP refers to the sockmaster account in the first person. Durova 05:44, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
Clerk note: Best to refer this to Brad Patrick or the Foundation Office. It's over any of our heads. Thatcher131 01:11, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

Brad Patrick got back to me. He didn't specifically comment on RFCU issues, but didn't offer any reason against running the check. I'll forward his e-mail upon request to any checkuser or clerk. Durova 01:24, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Inconclusive I can't comment on the IPs because of the privacy policy. There is no recent data regarding MyWikiBiz, and that leaves nothing left to check. The Uninvited Co., Inc. 19:38, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Code letter: B / F.

MyWikiBiz is also User:Thekohser; recent comments indicate that he is also using JossBuckle Swami. MyWikiBiz was banned by Jimbo for "selling" Misplaced Pages articles. http://www.mywikibiz.com/ordernow.html shows he is still doing this. If this user is using a static IP I strongly suggest it should be hard blocked. Guy (Help!) 09:41, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Clerk note: MyWikiBiz is too old to check. Cheers, ✎ Peter M Dodge ( Talk to MeNeutrality Project ) 07:01, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
But I know that he might use dynamic IPs in the 72.94.0.0/16 range. Scobell302 00:39, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
