Operadora de Tiendas Futurama, S.A. de C.V., commonly know as Alsuper, is a Mexican supermarket chain founded in Chihuahua, México in 1954. As of 2025 it has 81 stores in several cities in the states of Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango and Zacatecas.
History
The chain was founded in 1954 by the Sir Leopoldo Mares Paredes in a small warehouse in Chihuahua City. Early know as El Super del Real Lerdo, this pioneer store was the first grocery store in the city, offering a huge quantity of products and operating with only 40 associates.
In 1955, the chain opened its second store and expanded their offices and warehouses, following by the opening of three stores more by the following four years. For 1967, the chain adopted the Futurama name and stared to operating as a discount store.
During the 1990s decade, Alsuper emerged as an express concept, centering in provide an easy and fast shopping groceries. The first store under this concept, Alsuper Flores Magón, opened in 1993.
In 1997, Alsuper launched Club Alsuper, its loyalty program, a simple and innovating concept which attracted loyal shoppers, providing exclusive benefits like discounts on selected items, points accumulation by shopping with the possibility to obtain up to 20% of free pantry and exclusive promotions on associated stores.
At 2010, Alsuper experimented a transformation, to convert towards a multi-regional chain, expanding through Northern Mexico. Conscent of contemporary demands, lauched alsuper.com, an e-commerce plattform that offers delivery and on-store services.
