This is a 2024 timeline of events in the Somali Civil War (2009–present).

January

  • 5 January – Atleast 10 Al-Shabaab militants were killed in an airstrike in Beerxaani area northwest of Kismayo.
  • 11 January – Somaliland forces with the help of local militia captured the Jiidali town west of Erigaabo.
  • 15 January – Several ISIS fighters were killed and five were captured including foreign fighters in an offensive by Puntland Security Forces in Cal Miskaad mountains in the Bari region. The operation also lead to the destruction of 8 militants bases and shot down 9 explosive drones targeting the Security forces.
