Walsh was born and raised in Poughkeepsie, New York. He was the only child of Terence Michael Walsh (born 1961) and Loretta Macrillo Walsh (born 1961). For elementary and middle school, Walsh attended St. Peter's Catholic School in Hyde Park, New York. He later went to high school at Franklin Delano Roosevelt High School (Hyde Park, New York).
Walsh then moved to Albany, New York to study music at The College of Saint Rose. There, he worked at several local music venues as a live sound engineer, usher, hospitality assistant, and booking manager. On campus, he was very active emceeing many live events and participating in several clubs such as the Music Industry Student Association, along with giving tours and sitting on admissions panels.
