***I have to apologize for the behavior of the many self-appointed guardians of Misplaced Pages; the standard type of this model is someone who has often edited hardly any articles but has granted himself the God-like authority to decide which articles should (invariably) be deleted based on their rigid interpretation of what they think Misplaced Pages policy is. Only a small percentage of articles are ever submitted for deletion, and a tiny fraction are proposed for deletion with such abundant speed and insensitivity. I have tremendous respect for the time you have taken to look at other articles, trying to figure out the rules and applying them to the best of your ability to genuinely improve articles. The ] was a mere stub, only slightly better than the Clayton HS article, before you started improving it. If I recall, I had made several thousand edits before I started adding anything like the quality sources you have done over the past few weeks. Unfortunately, this article is unlikely to be retained in the face of such obstinate resistance to the reality of building good articles. Fear not. I have made a copy of the article under my user ID and I can show you how to clone it, so that you can create a working copy of your own. If the rabid hordes won't allow you the time to expand the article, you will be able to edit you own "personal" copy of the article and then move it to a regular Misplaced Pages article once its reached a point where it can stand up to the circling sharks at an AfD. Feel free to reach out to me if I can help with this or any other article. Ignore the negative types and keep up the excellent work! ] 18:17, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

Woodbury High School

You have made numerous edits removing a non-existant Wikilink to Woodbury Junior/Senior High School. While the article does not exist -- yet -- there is no reason to remove it. Keeping both the red link to Woodbury Junior/Senior High School and the external link will allow school information to be accessible via the external link until teh wiki article is created and will allow the article to remain unchanged once the article is created. Until then, treat Woodury Junior/Senior High School as a palce holder for an article that is on its way. Alansohn 20:00, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Dave Budd.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Dave Budd.jpg. Misplaced Pages gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Misplaced Pages, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Misplaced Pages:Media copyright questions. 16:05, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Bpacker.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Bpacker.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Misplaced Pages's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Colonial Conference

The Misplaced Pages tables are going to end up setting the column width to fit the widest item in each column. You can tinker with the widths, but you're only going to create more problems for yourself and for those on different browsers. Leave well enough alone. There's no need to list all of the member schools in the high school articles, and I would strongly suggest removing the list and just leaving the first sentence, which describes the conference. Great work! Alansohn 20:08, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Date links

In general, the Manual of Style discourages linking year-only dates. The general rule should be that you should only wikilink something that people might reasonably link to. So it would probably be appropriate in a sentence "The year 1972 was a pivotal year in American politics", but not "The school opened in 1972". Also avoid duplicating links; linking teh same term that has been linked previously, especially if its within a few paragraphs of another mention. Alansohn 20:50, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Clayton HS

Hey Alansohn I noticed you're the one who created most of the South Jersey high school pages. However, there is no Clayton High School page. When I searched for it the closest thing that came up was Clayton Middle/High School which has no official page. Is there any way that you can delete that and create "Clayon High School (New Jersey)"? I feel that the "Middle" in "Middle/High School" is unnecessary...if anything it could be Clayton Junior-Senior High School like you did for Woodbury's page. I'd help edit the Clayton one whenever possible. Thanks. -jrcla2

  • While I'm not crazy about the name, the school district used Clayton Middle/High School to refer to the school. I will try to create a shell for this page as soon as possible. Alansohn 02:49, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
