Venue suggestion needed for a meet-up in Yuen Long

In the past meet-ups, we always had our meeting in the centre of Kowloon, either Kowloon Tong or Mong Kok. However, apart from these places, I am sure that alternative venues in other region would be suitable.

This is the time for your suggestion! According to some discussion on Chinese Misplaced Pages, from August of 2007, the Hong Kong Wikimedians’ meet-up would be held in all districts of Hong Kong in a circulation basis.

Here is the tentative information of the first meet-up：

Date：11, August, 2007 (Saturday)

Time：After 5:00pm

Proposed region：Yuen Long

Mongol khans

Hello. I noticed that you moved articles on Mongol khans (e.g. Khutughtu Khan) around June 2007. I sought in vain for your proposal for move. Where did you make a proposal and gain consensus? --Nanshu 00:10, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

It's me who set up the previous naming format (X khan) "to bring some uniformity" (from Chinggis to Ligden). And personally, I don't like the current format because it's verbose and inconsistent with later khans like Dayan Khan. I think it's time to discuss the naming convention. But there is a problem: Where to discuss? Misplaced Pages talk:History standards for China-related articles or Misplaced Pages talk:Naming conventions (Mongolian)? (Welcome to sectionalism!) Legislative violence

I removed a large deal of content from Legislative violence relating to Taiwan. Misplaced Pages guidelines state that a) examples should be used to illustrate a point rather than being the bulk of the article (I think 2 major incidents does a good a job as 20 minor ones) and b) undue weight should not be given to an issue or side of an issue over others (given that Korea only has one entry and that Australia has none I think we can agree that the section on Taiwan was, by this definition, overly lengthy). Perhaps you could consider implementing some change to the original article on the Chinese[REDACTED] in adherence to these guidelines. AIV

Colorwolf only has one edit, to his own page, today and 203 none. This doesn't fit AIV criteria. My suggestion is to rm from AIV and take to WP:SSP with as much detail as possible, with diffs, on why you think it's a sock. Rlevse 16:30, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Regarding this edit, note that WP:USER states "Policy does not prohibit users from removing comments from their own talk pages, although archiving is preferred. The removal of a warning is taken as evidence that the warning has been read by the user. Deleted warnings can still be found in the page history.". Just a heads-up. Thanks for uploading Image:Seoige TnaG.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Misplaced Pages:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Misplaced Pages articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. Kayla Nebeker Karhohs

Hi Kenny, I agree that this subject is not notable, but I would urge you to use more considerate language in such AfDs. Regular editors of Misplaced Pages will understand what you mean when you say "was, still is, and forever will be non-notable person", but it is possible that the creator of this page is someone who was close to Ms Karhohs, and does not understand the technical use of non-notable, in which case your wording could be very upsetting. How about something on the lines of "subject does not qualify for inclusion under WP:BIO"? Phil Bridger (talk) 13:11, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Note though I have no qualms though about blocking persistent vandals - this user (or users of this IP) has yet to demonstrate persistance in vandalism.     • I believed that both the edit summary and the context of my previous, now refactored, note made it clear that the warnings were illustrative and not directed at you. I do remain concerned that you do not understand your warnings are in general pitched at an inapproriate level and breach WP:AGF. Of yourlast 50 edits to the User talk name space, at least 14 appear to be escalated warnings with no use of multi-level templates before hand - haven't comprehensively researched your edits (have better things to do). Your warning to this user in particular caught my eye (because I reverted to replace your warning) and I thought it over the top. Please reconsider. Note also your advice to User:LighteningKid "Removing warnings are prohibited" is not strictly correct - you perhaps need also to familiarise yourself with Misplaced Pages:Talk page guidelines : On your own user talk page, you may remove comments from others . Re your message: I'm not familiar with that particular sockpuppeteer, though it does sound vaguely familiar. With the account being inactive for so long, WP:ANI is not the appropriate place to report it. Instead, you should report it to WP:SSP.

As for your question about adminship, I remember you asking me about this last year and I think my comments then still apply now. I think you should find some part of Misplaced Pages that interests you where an admin work is required, such as RC patrolling, deletion discussions, policy discussions, etc. I think your assistance with ColourWolf is good, but you need to expand beyond him and his sockpuppets.
