Sinclaire was born in ], ], she is the third child of actors ] and ]. She is the granddaughter of ], niece of ], and ] sister of ], younger sister of ], and ], and older sister of Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, and twins Knox Léon Jolie-Pitt, and Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt. On her fathers side, Sinclaire is ] descent, and on her mother's side she is ], ] and ]. She grew up with her parents and sisters in ] where she began her career with her twin sister at six months.

In 1990, the twins started their acting careers on the ] '']''. They were hired at the age of six months and filming began when they were nine months old. The show was widely popular during the early 1990s.
Both sisters played the same character, ], taking turns during the tapings to do so, in order to comply with strict child labor laws regarding child actors. For the first year, Heather would cry when she was brought on set to do a scene, so Ariella had more screen time in the first season.

Because the producers did not want viewers to know that Michelle was played by twins, the sisters were originally credited as "Ariella Heather Sinclaire", but in the last season and most of season one, they were credited as separate people. The film, a female take on the film ], was an enormous success, earning Sinclaire great critical acclaim for her performance. She appeared on ] animated comedy ], as Piper Pinwheeler, she also starred as lead singer Chanel Simmons in ], which is a ] that is about four city girls who have dreams of becoming superstars. The movie was Disney Channel's first musical and spawned a massive franchise, including dolls, video games, platinum-selling soundtracks and more. After the release of ''The Cheetah Girls Movie'' Sinclaire along with the ] debut their christmas ablum ] released by ] on October 11, 2006. Sinclaire released her fourth studio album '']'' in July 12, 2007. In the album, she wrote four tracks, as well with co-writting two tracks. The album became more successful than her previous albums. '']'' debuted at number one in the U.S by selling 954,692 units in its first week. The following week '']'' continued at its number one spot. The album's success made her the second female artist in music history to have her first four albums debut at number one. The album fared well with critics such as ] who gave it 5 stars, describing the album's title tracks as being "pivotal moments on Ariella Sinclaire's fourth album, the record where she strives to deepen her persona, making it more adult while still recognizably Ariella. In contrast, '']'' said of the album '']'' "belabors the obvious: Sinclaire is five month away from entering her twenties and clearly needs to grow up if she's going to bring her fans along. ''Oops!... I Did It Agains'' lead single "]" peaked at 1 on the '']'' making it the album's biggest hit. To help promote the album, Sinclaire embarked on the ] in November 2007. The tour was done with success with millions of tickets sold its first release week with raging fans, the tour was extended two months more then when it was suppose to end.

After the release of ''Cheetah Girls 2'', Sinclaire, along with her fellow ], toured the US on their ]. The movie premiered on June 20 in the USA on Disney Channel, and in Canada on Family. The show features two strong sisters who love each other. The show aired January 20, 2009 with 2.9 million viewers. Sinclaire performed in and served as an ] for ], based on the ] of Susanna Kaysen winning her a four ]'s, she starred as Kaysen, who has ] and was admitted to a ] for recovery. It was adapted from the original memoir ], written by ] an ] author. Sinclaire starred alongside ] and ].

On December 24, 2008, Sinclaire stated that she will be recording her fifth solo studio album '']'' soon to be release. Sinclaire's working on the ]'s "'']''" (1997), alongside ] as ]. Sinclaire's cast as the seventeen-year-old ], a fictional first-class socialite who survives the 1912 sinking of the ], Sinclaire experienced physical and emotional exhaustion on set: "''Titanic'' is totally different and nothing could have prepared me for it. We we're scared about the whole adventure''.

On February 8, 2009, Sinclaire's scheduled performance at the ] was canceled. Reports later surfaced regarding an alleged altercation with her boyfriend, singer Chris Brown, who was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats. On March 5, 2009, Brown was charged with assault and making criminal threats.

It was confirmed that ] were no longer together as a group, it was also confirmed by ] that she would be going solo along with ].

In November 2007, Sinclaire joined the Pussycat Dolls. Sinclaire got her offer from ] to be in the burlesque troupe, who were being re-cast as recording artists, she got the opportunity to be the lead singer of the group along with prominent vocalist ] and back up singers ], ] and ].
