A group of fellow spelunkers were hired by Mr Mathis to explore an area of the cave that now is no longer on the actual tour named " Lovers leap " it is a drop of over 200 feet below the actual manin chamber. There were rumors from this group that there was in fact a larger room than the main show room, and that there were passageways that did go further North backing up the old legend that the cave use to come out in Talladega somewhere. All guys on this trip made a pact to not reveal what all they found in fear of it being over constructed for tourists. Where this site is still remains unknown. In the article written about the cave here on Wiki it states the cavern ends at a small pool of water. I can vouch from my own from the times i have been in the cave that it does not end here. —Preceding ] comment added by ] (]) 21:21, 27 July 2009 (UTC) A group of fellow spelunkers were hired by Mr Mathis to explore an area of the cave that now is no longer on the actual tour named " Lovers leap " it is a drop of over 200 feet below the actual manin chamber. I am posting this here because there hasn't been talk page activity at ] for more than two years. While watching recent changes I reverted edit. While the edit was misplaced commentary IMHO, the user does make a point. If one ''lives'' in Alabama are they ''from'' Alabama? I honestly do not know the answer. Has there been any discussion on this point within the project? I'm not a fan of "List of" articles in general, but if we're going to have them there should be some consistant treatment. If this subject has been discussed and there exits a consensus, please forgive my post. I'm asking so that I know how to proceed in the future. Thanks ]] 03:07, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Article alerts

This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.

If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Misplaced Pages:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Misplaced Pages talk:Article alerts.

Thanks. — Headbomb {κοντριβς – WP Physics} 08:43, 15 March, 2009 (UTC)

GA Sweeps invitation

This message is being sent to WikiProjects with GAs under their scope. Since August 2007, WikiProject Good Articles has been participating in GA sweeps. The process helps to ensure that articles that have passed a nomination before that date meet the GA criteria. After nearly two years, the running total has just passed the 50% mark. In order to expediate the reviewing, several changes have been made to the process. A new worklist has been created, detailing which articles are left to review. Instead of reviewing by topic, editors can consider picking and choosing whichever articles they are interested in.

We are always looking for new members to assist with reviewing the remaining articles, and since this project has GAs under its scope, it would be beneficial if any of its members could review a few articles (perhaps your project's articles). Your project's members are likely to be more knowledgeable about your topic GAs then an outside reviewer. As a result, reviewing your project's articles would improve the quality of the review in ensuring that the article meets your project's concerns on sourcing, content, and guidelines. However, members can also review any other article in the worklist to ensure it meets the GA criteria.

If any members are interested, please visit the GA sweeps page for further details and instructions in initiating a review. If you'd like to join the process, please add your name to the running total page. In addition, for every member that reviews 100 articles from the worklist or has a significant impact on the process, s/he will get an award when they reach that threshold. With ~1,300 articles left to review, we would appreciate any editors that could contribute in helping to uphold the quality of GAs. If you have any questions about the process, reviewing, or need help with a particular article, please contact me or OhanaUnited and we'll be happy to help. --Happy editing! Talk:University of Atlanta -- input requested

This article has been the subject of many discussions (WP:ANI, WP:AFD, etc.) A predecessor school in Mobile, Barrington University, was unaccredited and involved in multiple scandals. In 2004, it was sold to new owners. In 2008, Barrington was renamed and received DETC accreditation. Later, it was moved to Atlanta.

Presently, there's a disagreement at Talk:University of Atlanta as to whether Barrington's history should be included in the University of Atlanta article. This content issue has been clouded by issues of alleged spamming, sockpuppetry and legal threats by University of Atlanta employees and/or partisans.

It would be helpful if we had a few more neutral editors looking this over and adding their thoughtful comments on the talk page. Note that doing this right probably means about 30 minutes reading the cited references and the full discussion on the article talk page.

Thanks, --A. B. 17:02, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Request for any editor in the Auburn area

There's a slight content dispute over WTLM and whether they're still playing a sports talk format or have reverted to the Timeless-branded adult classics/nostalgia music format. Could any editor in radio range of Auburn please flip over to 1520 and let me know what the deal is? Thanks. - Dravecky (talk) 19:07, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

Quantum's website lists the format as "the softer side of more than three decades of great music that you won’t find anywhere else" however the site was last updated in 2007. I do have first hand knowledge however I imagine that John Bodiford the station Marketing Manager (Phone: 334-745-4656 Ext 302) would be glad to give you some information. Captain Deez (talk) 05:57, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

It was hard to hear over quite a bit of static, but they were playing Delta Dawn when I listened in. I think it's safe to say they are no longer playing sports talk. --auburnpilot talk 00:07, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
Thanks to you both for your assistance. - Dravecky (talk) 00:40, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Popular pages

I've requested a popular pages report from this service, so that we can determine at a glance which Alabama-related articles are the most viewed. Maybe we can get a better idea of our priorities from this. Altairisfartalk 17:21, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Okay, the service is set up now. After the first run, next month I believe, we will have a list of WikiProject Alabama's 500 most viewed pages located here. Altairisfartalk 16:06, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Template:Alabama-geo-stub

Recently the image for Template:Alabama-geo-stub was changed from Image:Flag of Alabama.svg to Image:Flag-map of Alabama.svg. I didn't like the new image, it looks strange to me. At the selected resolution you really can't even see the outline of Alabama, only the cropped flag of Alabama. So... I have changed it back. Thoughts?

Agreed. A horizontal flag and a vertical state just don't go together. --Spyder_Monkey (Talk) 19:30, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
