Neutrality

Your edits to Lebanese-related articles are rife with bias. Please read Misplaced Pages:NPOV carefully.--AladdinSE 11:59, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Hi; On Michel Aoun, your edit summary said, "This version is neutral, and based on historical facts that non-Lebanese do not know. Please submit historical sources and references before introducing any change. Thanks." The version you reverted to includes this:

"However, the Lebanese people did not surrender. Lebanon would stand up from its ashes like the Phoenix bird. The Phoenician spirit embedded in every Lebanese citizen could never die !!!"

That is not neutral, and is in no way appropriate language for an encyclopedia. Please review Misplaced Pages's policy on maintaining a Neutral Point Of View. Thanks, Tom Harrison 00:59, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

You are continuing with your highly biased editing. I have asked you to PLEASE stop your Michel Aoun hero-worship language and to cite reliable sources. Also, you may not upload or use images without proper copyright licenses. Please read Misplaced Pages:Copyrights and Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags.--AladdinSE 12:09, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Aoun_Army.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Aoun_Army.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Misplaced Pages because of copyright law (see Misplaced Pages's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Misplaced Pages are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you have questions about copyright tagging of images, post on Misplaced Pages talk:Image copyright tags or User talk:Carnildo/images. 12:43, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Note to Tom Harrison

Dear Tom,

Thanks for your input. I would like to stress than AladdinSE's version is TOTALLY biased. It is even INSULTING. AladdinSE is not Lebanese. He has many gaps and biases in his inputs.

I am ready to remove the two lines below if you find them too poetic, but I cannot accept AladdinSE's version.

His version is comparable to the History of the Jewish people written by a Nazi historian. It is insulting.

Thanks for your kind understanding

Fares

Please note: You have no idea what nationality I am. Do not make assumptions, and be less concerned about where I am from and more about conforming to neutrality policies. You are "insulted" because you are using an extremely partisan perspective to edit the articles. You have inserted POVs with no sources, and deleted sourced material. You also upload and use pictures with no copyright licenses. Please finally read Misplaced Pages policies before continuing with your sectarian crusade on Lebanese articles. Also, the correct way to sign and date your posts is to use 2 dashes (- -) and five tildes (~ ~ ~ ~ ~) with no spaces. --AladdinSE 13:52, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

Welcome, with information

We are glad to have you here and actively editing. I think the Encyclopedia we are writing will benefit from your perspective. Please let me draw your attention to a few points:

  • The edit summary is just for summarizing your edit. "My version is the most accurate LEBANESE version. I won't accept AladdinSE's SYRIAN version" is not a useful summary for someone who just wants to know briefly what changes you made. Please just narrowly describe the edit, like "added information about his childhood," or "corrected spelling of mother's name."
  • There are not competing Lebanese and Syrian versions; There is just the neutral Misplaced Pages version. This version is written by whoever wants to write it, and is developed through negotiation and consensus, with input from everyone. It is no more reasonable to say you will not accept his edits than for him to say he will not accept yours.
  • It is necessary that we all assume good faith. Everyone wants an accurate and useful article. When we disagree, we work out those disagreements through discussion and compromise.
  • For this to work, we all have to refrain from personal attacks. Something like, "His version is comparable to the History of the Jewish people written by a Nazi historian" can easily be misunderstood as comparing your fellow editor to a Nazi. That would make discussion and compromise more difficult. If personal attacks were allowed to continue, they could become very disruptive. As an administrator, I will work to prevent that, but I need your help. Thank you, and again, welcome. Tom Harrison 16:04, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

Abusive edit summaries

I think you need to calm down a little bit. Come back in twenty-four hours. — Mar. 14, '06 <freakofnurxture|talk>

Dear freakofnurture,

I am trying as much as possible to contribute positively to the knowledge published on Misplaced Pages. I am noticing that some contributors are presenting misleading information, that span sometimes the WHOLE article.

I am ready to provide evidence on the bias found in several articles.

I would like to request that an independent committee reviews ALL the articles published by AladdinSE, as they are completely biased and misleading.

For the sake of objectivity and professionalism that characterizes Misplaced Pages, I hope that we'll be able all together to provide the reader with accurate and unbiased facts.

Looking forward to working with you on this task.

Yours,

Fares

I completely agree. Misplaced Pages:Dispute resolution steps must be taken. Please note. Fares S refuses to respond to repeated pleas for discussion in the Michel Aoun article. If this editor does not shape up soon, official steps need to be taken to force compliance with NPOV and citation rules. --AladdinSE 12:14, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

Vandalism

How dare you delete material from my User Page. This is clear Vandalism. This is a user page not a Talk page, you may not alter other editors' User pages.--AladdinSE 14:38, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Celebration_return.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Celebration_return.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Misplaced Pages's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:
