Ek Tha tiger (Template:Lang-en) is an upcoming Indian romantic thriller film starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Though originally scheduled to release on 1 June, 2012, the film was shifted to August per request from Aamir Khan for releasing his film, Talaash on 1st June.
Cast
- Salman Khan as Tiger
- Katrina Kaif as Zoya
- Usha Uthup
- Ranvir Shorey
Production
The film was initially offered to Shahrukh Khan, but as he was unable to go ahead with the dates, he had to be replaced by Salman Khan. Ek Tha Tiger is Salman Khan's first venture with Yashraj Films. Director Kabir Khan teamed up with Katrina Kaif and Aseem Mishra for the second time after New York. Initially, Pritam was signed as the composer of the film. However, he opted out of the film later due to date clashes with two Yash Raj projects Ek Tha Tiger and Dhoom 3. Chopra, being impressed by composer Sohail Sen's work in their recently-released film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, roped him in to compose for the film. Khan's fee for Ek Tha Tiger is reported to be ₹32 crores.
Filming
Filming began on August 10, 2011 and the film is being planned for a release during Eid of 2012. It has reportedly been shot in 10 countries, including Ireland, Turkey, Cuba, Iraq and India. Filming was stalled when Salman set off to USA for a surgery regarding Trigeminal neuralgia and after it got over, it resumed on September 10. The first schedule was carried out in Dublin, in the Trinity College. The lead actors shot in the get-up of students and Aditya Chopra revealed that he chose that college as he did not want the "usual" educational institutions as backdrops. Some scenes were canned in Istanbul, and the second schedule was shot there. While shooting in Havana, the capital of Cuba, Salman Khan did a commercial for Cuban Tourism with a local team. The same sets used in the film were featured in the ad. The stunt directors of The Bourne Identity were contracted for Ek Tha Tiger's stunt sequences involving the lead actor.
Soundtrack
The film's original score and soundtrack will be composed by Sohail Sen. The lyrics will be penned by Neelesh Misra. A song titled Jaaniyan which had vocals by Asif Nawaz, a Pakistani artist was reported to have been leaked from the film's soundtrack. However, YRF officials denied the news, saying that the album was not in any danger of being leaked.
