The West Sussex County Council election, 2013 took place on 2 May 2013, when all 71 seats on West Sussex County Council were up for election.
At this election, the Conservative Party was seeking to retain overall control of the council, and the Liberal Democrats to maintain their position as the main opposition party.
The UK Independence Party gained 8 seats taking their total to 10, Labour gained 4 seats from the Conservatives to give them 6 seats all in Crawley Borough Divisions. The Lib Dems lost 11 seats and gained 1, making a total 8. UKIP became the official opposition on the council.
