Do not remove or blank out sourced information in articles simply because you disagree with it. Your claim that calling Johnny Cash "one of the most important artists of the 20th century" is "exaggeration" is utterly irrelevant. Pull that shit again and I will report you for vandalism. ---<font face="Georgia">''']</font><font face="Courier New">''''']''</font> 14:19, 4 November 2013 (UTC)

Possibly unfree File:Murray Perahia 1.JPG

An image that you uploaded or altered, File:Murray Perahia 1.JPG, has been listed at Misplaced Pages:Possibly unfree images because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the image description page. No problem! I noticed that, unfortunately, after I gave you the warning. My mistake. Thanks for contributing, and if you need any help, don't be afraid to ask! :) » \ / ( | ) 04:17, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Aerophones

I noticed that you recently added the category of Aerophones to many instruments. I believe they should be removed, since these instruments are already in more specific sub-categories of aerophones (as they should be). Could you check your edits and make the appropriate adjustments? Thanks. - Special-T (talk) 22:08, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Again - PLEASE!! You are adding categories to instruments already listed in the proper sub-categories. Please clean up these edits, or at least stop doing this - others have to take the time to clean this up. Thank you. - Special-T (talk) 23:24, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Category:Hindustani and Carnatic violin players

I see that you created this category and later blanked the page. A faster way to delete a category you've created yourself is to place {{db-author}} on the page. This tag attracts the attention of an administrator who can perform the deletion for you. Contact me if you have questions about this. Best regards, --Stepheng3 (talk) 05:46, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

Category:Composers of classical music by nationality etc

Hi. I wonder if you would like to explain your new category schemes at the Composers Project? I think it's important that everybody knows about your work. Thanks. --Kleinzach 04:31, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

I can reedit, I have observed that in the English wiki you separate composers from song-writers.--Opus88888 (talk) 04:47, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
That's right. It's a big change so please explain it all at the Composers Project. --Kleinzach 04:49, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Cuban folk music

Well, for the purposes of the template, since all other countries have put their main article as the link, you had best do the same. Link to Music of Cuba. The history of Cuban music does not fit the folk music genre well, though 'traditional music' seems a better label. Now, there is a not very good Cuban folk music article, and a folk music category in WP (see bottom of article). If you want to improve the Cuban folk music article, you'ld best read Alejo Carpentier's Music in Cuba publ in La Habana 1945, English transl. 2001. There's also a lot of historical material in Music of Cuba, but it's put under other headings. Plus a lot of references: I bought a whole boxful of Cuban studies on their music when I wisited Havana and Santiago de Cuba: I never imagined they might have a practical use. Then along came Misplaced Pages! Macdonald-ross (talk) 17:48, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

"Corn Tortilla"

In January you moved Tortilla (Mexico and Central-America) to Corn Tortilla with the comment "Short term". I think this important article has now been at a miscapitalization for far too long. Thoughts, plans? -- Infrogmation (talk) 16:53, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

I went ahead and moved it to corn tortilla and moved the article previously there to an orphan fork to be merged, see Talk:Corn tortilla. Cheers, -- Infrogmation (talk) 17:24, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of of William Cepeda

A tag has been placed on William Cepeda, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done for the following reason:

Copyright Violation

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Misplaced Pages criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Human.v2.0 (talk) 01:28, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

OK, starting to head in a better direction, but please do not remove the speedy tag and instead leave {{hangon}} if need be; that way unless a few references get in there to validate a lack of copyright violation and admin can make the call themselves. --Human.v2.0 (talk) 01:36, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

It's good to see you taking an active interest in British food products. Speedy deletion nomination of Self-taught persons

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Self-taught persons, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article that does not provide sufficient context to identify its subject. Please see Misplaced Pages:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Category:Tambura players for M. S. Subbulakshmi

I do not believe we need to add this category to MSS. Probably every singer and carnatic musician can play the Tambura, but I doubt many are "professional" tambura players. I also feel that this whole category could be dropped, as the skill for playing a Tambura is minimal and we do not have awards for being a Tambura player, etc. VasuVR (talk, contribs) 15:27, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

Hello, Opus88888. You have new messages at VasuVR's talk page.

Hello Opus. You can find a list of the templates used to rotate the daily/weekly/monthly/etc content of portals at Misplaced Pages:WikiProject portal dynamics. Speedy deletion nomination of Amritvani

A tag has been placed on Amritvani requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Misplaced Pages:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ▒ Wirεłεşş ▒ Fidεłitұ ▒ Ćłâşş ▒ Θnε ▒ ―Œ 19:08, 25 December 2009 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Opus88888! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 29 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

File copyright problem with File:Tortillas.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Tortillas.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Misplaced Pages takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. FASTILYsock 21:30, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Antonio Soller

The article Antonio Soller has been proposed for deletion because under Misplaced Pages policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Misplaced Pages:Referencing for beginners or ask at Misplaced Pages:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. magnius (talk) 21:52, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Welcome to Misplaced Pages. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Saint. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. If you were removing the content because you believe there is something wrong with it, then it would benefit all of us if you would share your concerns either in the edit summary, or on the discussion page, located here: Talk:Saint. Speedy deletion nomination of Zainidin Imanaliev

A tag has been placed on Zainidin Imanaliev requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 23:21, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

YouTube videos

Hi, please remember that you can't link to YouTube videos that are copyright infringements (per WP:ELNEVER) - I removed the video link for R. Visweswaran. I also think you don't need to link Category:Indian musicians for articles like this, because Category:Carnatic instrumentalists and Category:Hindustani instrumentalists are subcategories so the top level category becomes redundant. Hekerui (talk) 09:13, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

You did it again in Ghulam Hassan Sofi. And you leave out grammatical articles that are needed. Try to improve and don't link copyright violations! Hekerui (talk) 19:33, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

Jew's Harp

Hey, I noticed you changed Jew to Jaw. Were they all wrong? Ocaasi 03:37, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi, this probably needs to go on the talk page, but Misplaced Pages uses common language as well as specific language. So, even if there's no particular connection, if there's a widespread use of the term Jew's harp, we're in a more gray situation. Why do you think we should override common usage in this case? Do you think the article title should be changed as well? There's a way we can get feedback called requested moves, let me know if you think it would be useful. Ocaasi 14:14, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
I find it rather surprising that Jew's harp is the common name, since it just doesn't sound very modern or politically correct. This 'would' make for a good discussion on the article talk page. You might consider leaving an note there explaining the changes you made, and why, musicology-wise, they make sense. Ocaasi 14:25, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

Your edits at Carnatic music

A few issues:

  • The previous consensus at this page was that artist names should not be mentioned, as there is too much dispute as to the order in which artist names are to be mentioned and the images to be used at this article. Therefore, please do not introduce such images into the article.
  • The two other sentences you are attempting to introduce in the lead section do not appear to be appropriate to what that section of the article is designed for. Also, there would need to be some coverage of this material elsewhere in the article, but the issue is it should not be given undue weight and it should not consist of purely synthesised content. I have reverted your edit, so you will need to discuss this before it can be reintroduced into the article. Ncmvocalist (talk) 10:08, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

Your edits in Bhajan Sopori

The citation to Sopori's lede was removed by you stating that the link is not active. I have just accessed the link 2 minutes ago and is very much active here --> Bhajan Sopori Sangeet Natak Academi. Kindly reinstate. -Ambar (talk) 16:53, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

Your edits in Kashmir

If you don't self-revert your edits to Kashmir, and discuss on the talk page Talk:Kashmir, in accordance with WP:BRD, I'll be reporting you to WP:ANI. Best regards, Fowler&fowler«Talk» 13:37, 28 July 2012 (UTC)

I'm afraid you're not getting it. You have to self-revert and gain consensus for your edits on the talk page first. Please read WP:BRD. Meanwhile, your map has to go. Fowler&fowler«Talk» 23:38, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
Thank you for self-reverting. Best regards, Fowler&fowler«Talk» 08:59, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
Thank you also for providing the link to Kashmir valley. I didn't know it had its own page. Regards, Fowler&fowler«Talk» 10:26, 29 July 2012 (UTC)

Your recent edits on Bhajan Sopori

Hi Opus, you have deleted the section on notable instruments (infobox) in the Bhajan Sopori page. While I appreciate your effort to edit and improve the article, the infobox for musicians is designed in such a way as to create a section for notable instruments. Kindly do not remove that again. I have reinstated it. -Ambar (talk) 15:54, 12 August 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for August 27

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Goblet drum, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sumeria (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Good Effort

Happy to see some form of Thygaraja's figure from uou. It is nice to add other trinity and Purandara daasa's sketches. I am not sure why there is a photo of a goddes and ad-hoc photo of a musician. Hope some routine editor will remove them. Ennaraga (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 07:24, 8 September 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of WIS International

Hello Opus88888,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged WIS International for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Gbawden (talk) 09:11, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

Johnny Cash

Do not remove or blank out sourced information in articles simply because you disagree with it. Your claim that calling Johnny Cash "one of the most important artists of the 20th century" is "exaggeration" is utterly irrelevant. Pull that shit again and I will report you for vandalism. ---The Old JacobiteThe '45 14:19, 4 November 2013 (UTC)
