Jason Minter (born in 1971) is an associate television producer of The Sopranos, an activist, writer and restaurateur.

Career

Prior to his becoming an associate producer on the Emmy Award-winning show, The Sopranos, Minter worked as the show’s assistant location manager as well as assistant to the show’s creator David Chase. Minter also appeared in D-Girl, an episode of The Sopranos, with James Gandolfini and Edie Falco.

His story and career have been covered in articles by The New York Post, New York Times, USA Today, Daily Mail, among others.

Personal life and Indian Road Cafe

Minter opened the Upper Manhattan Indian Road Café, dubbed a "secret hide-away" by critics, in 2008 in remembrance of Jason Minter’s mother, Bonnie, who was murdered in 1977 while he was 7. The story was the subject of a 2007 episode of This American Life on National Public Radio.

The convicted murderers were each handed down sentences of 25 years to life. Minter is a critic of the system he has said subjects victims' families to the bi-annual ordeal of reviewing the detail of the criminal violence against them each time the inmates are up for parole. In winter of 2014, as the killers faced the parole board, Minter circulated an online petition that received thousands of signatures. The Parole Board denied the killers their freedom. The convicted killers are scheduled for parole hearings again in 2016.
