Yasir Hameed Qureshi (Urdu: یاسر حمید قریشی) (born 28 February, 1978 in Peshawar) is a Pakistani cricketer belonged to Union Council Kukmang Circle Bakote District Abbottabad . He scored two centuries on his Test debut, becoming only the second player to do so. During his first thirty one-day international innings, he has scored more runs than any other batsman, as well as scoring four successive opening partnerships of 100 or more, a unique achievement.

He was out of the squad recently because of his form. He came back in the final ODI in the Bank Alfalah Series against England and scored 57. In his career to date his feeble technique outside his offstump against the pacers and his temperament have been found to be wanting. He remains unlikely to secure a place in the Pakistan Test side on a permanent basis in the future.

In his absence from International cricket, Pakistan Team has developed and settled so much that his place is no longer available in the final XI. Salman Butt has done considerably well as opener. Pakistani coach, and captain are indicating that they are still keen the find openers on permanent basis rather than playing Kamran Akmal (to lower his workload) or Shoaib Malik. There is a slight chance that another professional opener will be brought up to international cricket however Yasir would have to perform exceptionally to assure his return to the Pakistan squad. At one point. Yasir, like many Pakistani players stepped into international cricket with a bang but lost his cool. With a score of 57 in his last ODI (against England), he is likely to rise again.
