The '''lowfin houndshark''', ''Iago sp.A'', is a ] of the ] ] found in the ] from the ] and from the south east coast of ]. Its habitat is the outer ] and upper slope below 183 ], but it is also semi]. Its length is up to 41 ].

The lowfin houndshark is slender with large ] slits, similar to the ], ''Iago omanensis'' (with which it is confused in Indian waters), but with shorter head, slimmer body, much lower ]s, smaller ]s, softer skin and muscles, and darker coloration. The large gills suggest that this species can tolerate water with low ] content.
