Samurai warrior Jin Sakai has to ignore his traditions and values in order to secure the freedom of Tsushima.
Production
In March 2021, Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions announced the development of a film adaptation of the game, with Chad Stahelski directing. In April 2022, Takashi Doscher was hired to write the screenplay. In August, Andrew Koji expressed his desire to portray Jin Sakai in the film. That same month Stahelski stated his intention to make the film with a complete Japanese cast, and spoken in the Japanese language, with Sony supporting the choice. In June 2023, Stahelski announced the film was under "heavy development", with him announcing in October that the script was ready.
