:yeah, he totally did - I went out and bought "The Death Of Television" (1994 ed) just to check these claims, and he really did, 13 years ahead of time. Of course, all these ideas were in the air at the time - very little he says in "The Death Of Television" would surprise anyone who was on Usenet in the late 1980s - but they were absolutely not in the mainstream, and he brought them there. There's good reason people took Gilder seriously, and the shine didn't really come off until the Discovery Institute and the Wedge Document - ] (]) 12:31, 22 March 2020 (UTC) |
