== Invitation to participate in a research ==

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Misplaced Pages, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this ''''''.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its ] and view its ] .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

== G8 speedy deletion of ] ==

Hello,
If I'm not mistaken, doesn't ] explicitly exclude user talk pages? Thanks! ](] · ]) 13:58, 6 February 2024 (UTC)

I recently invited you to take a survey about administration on Misplaced Pages. If you haven’t yet had a chance, there is still time to participate– we’d truly appreciate your feedback. The survey is anonymous and should take about 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its ] and view its ].

Should I open a second AfD, even it it's rather clear that the page is a recreation of a deleted one? ] (]) 16:47, 27 February 2024 (UTC)

]
::Hi ], thanks for your message.
::I understand your point and agree to some extent, but technically a new Speedy nomination falls afoul of the G4 criteria. I'm not a big fan of process wonkery and generally frown upon it, but the "rules" have evolved over time, usually for a good reason. So I think the best course of action in this instance is to take the article to AFD.

I'll ponder over this longer, but thanks to ], whose commentary in that thread on the interpretation of the wording I found the most helpful.

== Retrieve Deleted Article ==

Hello! I was told to reach out to retrieve deleted content/articles. My only article was potentially deleted and I put a lot of work into it. Even if we don’t use it for Misplaced Pages I’d like to have all that info. Please let me know if there’s anything you can do. It is the article about the musical artist “DHeusta.”

The policy allows for deletion at any point in time after a page has been nominated if the deletion is uncontested. You would have been notified on your userpage of the tagging for speedy deletion. :::::'''Tags on ] prior to Deletion'''

:Hello {{u|Heustabros}} thanks for your message. I've searched the deletion logs for any deleted article titled "Dheusta" but was unable to locate anything matching that title. I see from your User Talk Page that you had a notification from {{u|TornadoLGS}} about the content at ] which MAY be liable to deletion because it does not meet our ] or ] guidelines. I think that may be the information you are seeking. As of now, that content has NOT been deleted, so you are able to access and recover this without my intervention. Bear in mind, however, that any user is entitled to tag that page for deletion at any time, so please retrieve what you need without delay. Best wishes, ] ] 23:53, 6 January 2025 (UTC)

I will be taking an intermittent wikibreak due to a recent personal injury.

This Talk Page

If you leave a message for me here, I will probably reply on your talk page unless you ask me not to do so,

Trying to follow discussions between users can be important, and it becomes so much easier to work out who said what to whom, when and why if those discussions are available in one place.

If I leave a message, or a reply to you on your User talk page, I will reflect that here to keep the record of our discussions less fragmented.

Copy of Draft:Edith_Vernes

Hello, I subbmited my Draft of a Misplaced Pages page of Edith Vernes, but got my submission rejected & deleted beacause of a lack of neutrality. I would like to have a copy of the deleted draft in order to re-write it and have it proof read before publishing it again. Could you provide me a copy to my user page ? Thank you in advance ! Benjamin Karaoglan (talk) 15:40, 9 June 2024 (UTC)

Hi, I have restored this Draft to User:Benjamin_Karaoglan/sandbox. Hope that is of use to you, best wishes. --Cactus.man 09:49, 10 June 2024 (UTC)

Technical news

  • Global blocks may now target accounts as well as IP's. Administrators may locally unblock when appropriate.
  • Users wishing to permanently leave may now request "vanishing" via Special:GlobalVanishRequest. Processed requests will result in the user being renamed, their recovery email being removed, and their account being globally locked.

PRODs

Hello, Cactus.man,

When you delete an article that is tagged for Proposed Deletion, please also delete the article talk page and any redirects there are, to the article and talk page. The recent article on Stadion Zürich left behind both the talk page and lots of broken redirects. If you use Twinkle to do your page deletions, it will take care of talk pages and redirects for you. Then, the only thing you need to check are redirects to the article talk page which Twinkle doesn't handle (for unknown reasons). Thank you. Liz 23:40, 18 August 2024 (UTC)

Invitation to participate in a research

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Misplaced Pages, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:10, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
