Hi KhanShuja313! Thanks for contributing to Misplaced Pages. Delivered by HostBot on behalf of the Teahouse hosts 16:04, 6 August 2021 (UTC) |
Welcome!
Hello, KhanShuja313, and welcome to Misplaced Pages! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your recent edits to the page 1947 Poonch rebellion did not conform to Misplaced Pages's verifiability policy, and may have been removed. Misplaced Pages articles should refer only to facts and interpretations verified in reliable, reputable print or online sources or in other reliable media. Always provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Misplaced Pages also has a related policy against including original research in articles.
If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to The Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

Hello, I'm Padgriffin. I noticed that in this edit to Pashtuns, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Misplaced Pages with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Padgriffin 09:19, 21 February 2022 (UTC)

Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Misplaced Pages.
When editing Misplaced Pages, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
I noticed your recent edit to Sudhan does not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits a summary may be quite brief.
Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Misplaced Pages account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Kautilya3 (talk) 22:13, 25 March 2022 (UTC)

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Misplaced Pages's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}}
on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. Hello, I'm Qwerfjkl (bot). I have automatically detected that this edit performed by you, on the page Nawab Jassi Khan, may have introduced referencing errors. They are as follows:
- A "bare URL and missing title" error. References show this error when they do not have a title. Please edit the article to add the appropriate title parameter to the reference. (Fix | Ask for help)
Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 21:01, 25 October 2023 (UTC)

- @Indiacup, I've moved it back to main space and reverted it to a redirect, again. This is partly to avoid the potential "stealth deletion" of a draft that hasn't been edited for 6 months. If you want to expand this to an article, please review Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Bostan Khan (soldier) and perhaps suggest a new version via WP:AFC or at least explaining why you think it's notable (I do see there's some changes from what was BLAR'd, so there may be hope for WP:N). Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Malli Khan. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you. Sumanuil. (talk to me) 08:10, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Poonch Jagir. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Kautilya3 (talk) 10:02, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

Welcome to Misplaced Pages. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment on the AfD discussion instead. Thank you. Fram (talk) 09:12, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
Pahari (Poonchi)
You made a reference to Abbasi 2010 and Grierson 1919, but the full citations are missing. Could you add them please? Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 20:46, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
Ransacking existing pages
Hello Khan Shuja, you have had enough freedom to create new pages and to edit topics of your interest such as 1837 Poonch Rebellion etc. Please refrain from mucking up previously existing pages such as the History of Poonch District. The changes you have made are unacceptable. You need a lot more experience before you can be allowed to do such edits. For a starter, you need to learn to use WP:edit summary, which you haven't yet done despite being here for several years .-- Kautilya3 (talk) 00:35, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
- In this version of the page, the citation 12 includes a quotation from the source. But it is not a full sentence. It stops after "Sudhans". Can you explain why that is? -- Kautilya3 (talk) 01:37, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
- Poonch jagir constitutes some areas which were not part of Poonch before 18th century, like Sudhanoti was a separate state before 18th century and had long history behind them it in 1846 Gulab Singh conquered Actual Poonch which (now in India) and srounding areas like Bagh Haveli Farward Kahuta Sudhanoti were intergrated in Greater Poonch Jagir by dogra ruler and Sudhanoti was made tehsil of Poonch from and state and this is why it is difficult to find actuall history of Poonch, like the area which is now called Poonch district of Azad Kashmir was actually not Poonch but part of former Sudhanoti state. KhanShuja313 (talk) 02:07, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
- Is that supposed to be a reason for misrepresenting the source even in a direct quotation? -- Kautilya3 (talk) 09:54, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
- Sir i did not mispresented the source it was added by someone else i always try to correct the quality of the articale and accuracy KhanShuja313 (talk) 11:22, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
- Ok, my apologies. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 11:36, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

- Ok, I understand. But in order to be a good contributor, you need to start writing edit summaries, and engage in talk page discussions. You can't work in isolation and write up you own ideas and reorganise existing articles to your tastes. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 11:31, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
- When you want to reorganise or rewrite a long-standing article, it is a good idea to raise the issue on the talk page first, and obtain WP:CONSENSUS before proceeding. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 11:38, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
