However, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to RegisterFly, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. The "scare quotes" around forgotten, and the commentary about "cheating", are hardly neutral. Request for edit summary

Having noticed your (correct) addition to Suez Canal, I've looked over your recent editing history. It would appear that you don't make much use of edit summaries. These are not compulsory, but they do help other editors who are looking at any changes you make, or when looking at the editing history of a page. When you edit a Misplaced Pages article, just below the main editing box is another one-line editing box labelled as 'edit summary'. The idea of this is that you put in a terse summary of what your edit is about, e.g. if it is just a spelling correciton then the summary could be as simple as 'spelling'; in the recent Suez Canal change, the summary could be 'add canal construction time'.

Hi! We are not all time millionaries. I often make voluntary work here correcting for example spelling error. For example, I correct noraml, to normal, which means deleting one character and inserting another one. I hope you don't want me to add a 10 characters summary for a two character correction... Almost all Misplaced Pages editors are volunteers like me and you. I've often seen the abbreviation 'sp' for spelling in an edit summary, which is not quite so onerous as 'spelling'. However, for any significant edit, a summary is a good idea. Murray Langton (talk) 15:11, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Queen Heongyeong, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The reason given is not a valid speedy deletion criterion. The only speedies for redirects are WP:CSD#R2 and WP:CSD#R3; otherwise, you need WP:RFD. Generally, redirects are cheap and are kept if they could possibly be useful. Recent edit reversion

In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.

I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.

I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Misplaced Pages article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.)
