Thank you for your GA comments on review of this article. I believe I have addressed them all. I have added comments in reply on the talk page. Thanks for all your help clearing the Transport GA nom backlog. Regarding the Air Transport in the UK 2nd opinion you asked for – although I'm not a more experienced reviewer or an expert in the field – IMHO it's plenty good enough for Good Article status, and the time to go over the remaining issues with a fine toothed comb would be at a featured article candidacy. That's just one editor's very humble opinion though. -- '''] ]''' 02:17, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Looking back at the history, it looked like you had started to make each group of ten into a table, but then quit after 11-20. Just wondering what the thought process was on that, because I personally think the article looks ugly and it should be all table or all nontable. ] 11:54, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

== A successful[REDACTED] article ==
Dear roads editor,

I am doing a project for class and need to write a[REDACTED] article I was wondering if you could describe to me what goes into an article to make it successful on wikipedia.
You may have noticed some changes at ] lately. Some of them, like the cleanup templates and the stub templates, have been astounding and great. Unfortunately, others have been disturbing.

Thanks
This has become evidenced by the departure of a few prominent editors at USRD, a few RFC's, and much fighting among USRD editors.

After the second RFC, many of us found the opportunity to take a step away from Misplaced Pages for a while--as a self-imposed wikibreak, or possibly on vacation.

I don't know if you saw the 4/25 ] commentary, but it seems like you were left a lot of advice toward improviing the article.--] <small>(]/]/]/]/]) </small> 02:05, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
The result of such introspection was that many of us were placing ourselves in a "walled garden" and on a self-imposed pedestal of authority over the roads department. Also, we were being hostile to a few users who were not agreeing with us.

== GA review ==
In fact, IRC has been the main incarnation of this "walled garden." Decisions have been made there to conduct grudges and prejudices against a few valued USRD users with poor justification.

Just wanted to remind you, I'm waiting for your reply on the talk page at ] regarding your GA review of the article. Thanks! --] (]) 21:40, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
For this, we have come to apologize. We have come to ask your forgiveness.

:I have updated the page with information about the history of the law, as you have requested. --] (]) 07:19, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
In addition to this, we hope to work as one USRD team from now on and to encourage cooperation instead of the promotion of interests.

== WikiProject Good Articles Recruitment Centre ==

{|{{Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Good articles/Recruitment Centre/Shell|introduction=Hello! Now, some of you might have already received a similar message a little while ago regarding the Recruitment Centre, so if you have, there is no need to read the rest of this. This message is directed to users who have reviewed over 15 Good article nominations and '''are not''' part of ] (the first message I sent out went to only WikiProject members).

So for those who haven't heard about the Recruitment Centre yet, you may be wondering why there is a Good article icon with a bunch of stars around it (to the right). The answer? WikiProject Good articles will be launching a Recruitment Centre very soon! The centre will allow all users to be taught how to review Good article nominations by experts just like you! However, in order for the Recruitment Centre to open in the first place, we need some volunteers:

*'''Recruiters:''' The main task of a recruiter is to teach users that have never reviewed a Good article nomination how to review one. To become a recruiter, all you have to do is meet ]. If we don't get at least 5-10 recruiters to start off with (at the time this message was sent out, 2 recruiters have volunteered), the Recruitment Centre ''will not'' open. If interested, make sure you meet the criteria, read ] and add your name to the ]. (One of the great things about being a recruiter is that there is no set requirement of what must be taught and when. Instead, all the content found in the ] is a guideline of the main points that should be addressed during a recruitment session...you can also take an entire different approach if you wish!) If you think you will not have the time to recruit any users at this time but are still interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still add your name to the list of recruiters but just fill in the "Status" parameter with "Not Available".

*'''Co-Director:''' The current Director for the centre is me (Dom497). Another user that would be willing to help with some of the tasks would be helpful. Tasks include making sure recruiters are doing what they should be (teaching!), making sure all recruitments are archived correctly, updating pages as needed, answering any questions, and distributing the feedback form. If interested, please contact ].

*'' '''Nominators, please read this:''' '' If you are not interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still help. In some cases a nominator may have an issue with an "inexperienced" editor (the recruitee) reviewing one of their nominations. To minimize the chances of this happening, if you are fine with a recruitee reviewing one of your nominations under the supervision of the recruiter, please add your name to the list at the bottom of ]. By adding your name to this list, chances are that your nomination will be reviewed more quickly as the recruitee will be asked to choose a nomination from the list of nominators that are OK with them reviewing the article.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ]. I look forward to seeing this program bring new reviewers to the Good article community and all the positive things it will bring along.

''A message will be sent out to all recruiters regarding the date when the Recruitment Centre will open when it is determined. The message will also contain some further details to clarify things that may be a bit confusing.''--] (]

The article ] has been ]&#32;because of the following concern:
<blockquote>'''Policies violated by this page:

] "Simple listings without contextual information showing encyclopedic merit."

] Misplaced Pages is not a travel guide. We have Wikitravel for that, and many of these pages could be recreated (or already are) there.

The core content policies are: 1) neutral point of view, 2) no original research and 3) verifiability. This page violages policies 2 and 3.

] What are the criteria to meet to be in the list? This page has vague or no criteria. By definition, then, there is no way to verify the inclusion or exclusion of any particular site in the list.

] Original research "includes any analysis or synthesis of published material that serves to reach or imply a conclusion not stated by the sources. To demonstrate that you are not adding original research, you must be able to cite reliable, published sources that are directly related to the topic of the article, and directly support the material being presented." Who says that each of the items in the list are tourist attractions? Given the lack of inclusion criteria, that's understandable, as there is no need to justify being in a list that doesn't have standards for inclusion. However, that also points to original research as being the source for inclusion.'''</blockquote>

GAN Reviewer of the Week

The Good Article Medal of Merit
Congratulations! Based on the number and thoroughness of reviews, I have chosen you as the GAN Reviewer of the Week for the week ending 13 April 2008. Dr. Cash (talk) 06:11, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Saskatchewan Highway 1

Thank you for your GA comments on review of this article. I believe I have addressed them all. I have added comments in reply on the talk page. They have just been completed, so will also re-read them shortly as well. I have added how I addressed the issues raised. (I am not really knowing how to do en-dash so tried a copy and paste for example) (I used another article for inflation ratio between now and 1963)SriMesh | talk 02:56, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for passing this article to GA status. Have entered the article to the League of Copy Editors for prose improvement as well as per comments. Kind Regards SriMesh | talk 03:50, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

-- Kéiryn 02:17, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi. Thanks for wading through this article. It's long and must have taken up a good deal of your time. I've responded to your outstanding concern on the article talk page. --FactotEm (talk) 06:42, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

NY 21

Hi, I noticed that you put the review template on NY 21's GAN a few days ago. I was wondering if, because it's been several days, you see something wrong with the article. Don't feel rushed, I just wanted to know the status. Thanks, Juliancolton 00:04, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Maronite mummies

Ummmm, there are a lot of citations on the article Maronite mummies. How sure are you that the text is copyvio? How closely did you follow.. the text of the entire article? Etc. Ling.Nut (talk) 14:34, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

NY 418

Just curious, what's holding this GAN up from passing. If the Dude Ranch Trail is taken out, there will be 1 sentence of history.32 02:31, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

for this 3.5 mile road to nowhere, no. I can try merging it out, will take at least a week or a couple days. 418 is part of a FT of mine and I need it at least at GA to work on it.32 02:44, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
That also reminds me, another article in the FT I'm working on, NY 9L, would end up being in the same condition of 418, with only 1 sentence of history, making the article look like junk. Is there a way we can compromise?32 15:24, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
What do you wanna do? NY 418 has no history section, which doesn't help me at all. Is there a way you can help me get it audited for quality?32 22:37, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

O.K. I have those two fixed. Thanks for the help. I am wondering if I can use this service for Michigan newspapers. It seems that it is limited to Illinois. I have two citations at Tyrone Wheatley that I would love to clean up.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 16:16, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

USRD participants list

As discussed at WT:USRD, the participants list at WP:USRD is being split by state. Due to any of the following factors- your extended participation in WT:USRD discussions, your IRC participation, or your extended participation in Shields or Maps, I have guessed that you are a nationwide editor and have designated you as such in the USRD partiicpants table. This is part of the lengthy process. If this is in error, please let me know immediately. This is especially likely with this group as I have to guess whether you are a national or a state editor. Orphaned non-free media (Image:RoselleIllinoisLogo.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:RoselleIllinoisLogo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Misplaced Pages (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:43, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Auxiliary routes of Interstate 80

The article Auxiliary routes of Interstate 80 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Handled by {{I-80 aux}}.

While all contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

File source problem with File:Il4.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Il4.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Misplaced Pages's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 09:33, 1 May 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:33, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

WikiProject Good Articles Recruitment Centre

Hello! Now, some of you might have already received a similar message a little while ago regarding the Recruitment Centre, so if you have, there is no need to read the rest of this. This message is directed to users who have reviewed over 15 Good article nominations and are not part of WikiProject Good articles (the first message I sent out went to only WikiProject members).

  • Recruiters: The main task of a recruiter is to teach users that have never reviewed a Good article nomination how to review one. To become a recruiter, all you have to do is meet this criteria. If we don't get at least 5-10 recruiters to start off with (at the time this message was sent out, 2 recruiters have volunteered), the Recruitment Centre will not open. If interested, make sure you meet the criteria, read the process and add your name to the list of recruiters. (One of the great things about being a recruiter is that there is no set requirement of what must be taught and when. Instead, all the content found in the process section is a guideline of the main points that should be addressed during a recruitment session...you can also take an entire different approach if you wish!) If you think you will not have the time to recruit any users at this time but are still interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still add your name to the list of recruiters but just fill in the "Status" parameter with "Not Available".
  • Co-Director: The current Director for the centre is me (Dom497). Another user that would be willing to help with some of the tasks would be helpful. Tasks include making sure recruiters are doing what they should be (teaching!), making sure all recruitments are archived correctly, updating pages as needed, answering any questions, and distributing the feedback form. If interested, please contact me (Dom497).
  • Nominators, please read this: If you are not interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still help. In some cases a nominator may have an issue with an "inexperienced" editor (the recruitee) reviewing one of their nominations. To minimize the chances of this happening, if you are fine with a recruitee reviewing one of your nominations under the supervision of the recruiter, please add your name to the list at the bottom of this page. By adding your name to this list, chances are that your nomination will be reviewed more quickly as the recruitee will be asked to choose a nomination from the list of nominators that are OK with them reviewing the article.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to seeing this program bring new reviewers to the Good article community and all the positive things it will bring along.

A message will be sent out to all recruiters regarding the date when the Recruitment Centre will open when it is determined. The message will also contain some further details to clarify things that may be a bit confusing.--Dom497 (talk)

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Please claim your upload(s): File:ILL 72 route sign.jpg

Hi, Thank you, for uploading this file.

However, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure all media on English Misplaced Pages is correctly licensed and attributed it would be appreciated if you were able to confirm some details,

If it's your own work, please include {{own}}, amend the {{information}} added by a third party, and change the license to an appropriate "self" variant. You can also add |claimed=yes to the {{media by uploader}} tag if it is present to indicate that you've acknowledged the image, and license shown (and updated the {{information}} where appropriate).

If it's not your own work please provide as much sourcing/authorship information as you are able to.

This will assist those reviewing the many many "free" images on commons that have not yet been transfered to Commons. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 22:45, 7 August 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of List of tourist attractions in Quincy, Illinois

Notice

The article List of tourist attractions in Quincy, Illinois has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Policies violated by this page:

WP:NOTDIRECTORY "Simple listings without contextual information showing encyclopedic merit."

WP:NOTGUIDE Misplaced Pages is not a travel guide. We have Wikitravel for that, and many of these pages could be recreated (or already are) there.

The core content policies are: 1) neutral point of view, 2) no original research and 3) verifiability. This page violages policies 2 and 3.

WP:VERIFY What are the criteria to meet to be in the list? This page has vague or no criteria. By definition, then, there is no way to verify the inclusion or exclusion of any particular site in the list.

WP:NOR Original research "includes any analysis or synthesis of published material that serves to reach or imply a conclusion not stated by the sources. However, that also points to original research as being the source for inclusion.

While all constructive contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — rsjaffe 🗣️ 02:18, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
