WellStar Douglas Hospital<ref></ref> is the county hospital for Douglasville, Georgia, United States. WellStar Douglas Hospital has served the Douglas County community since 1989<ref>"Date of first accreditation: 1989 </ref>. The hospital was previously known as Douglas General, but took on its current name following a change of ownership in 1993.


The original Douglas Hospital opened with 15 patient beds. In 1974, construction was completed on the new Douglas General Hospital, increasing the number of beds to 98. The new hospital opened in 1975.
The hospital currently has 98 beds, and provides inpatient (including emergency room and ICU) and outpatient services. The hospital is not affiliated with medical schools but does accept internships through local college nursing programs.


In 1976, Douglas Hospital opened its ]. It became one of the first hospitals in the nation where mothers and newborns roomed together.


In 1993, Douglas General merged with several other hospitals in the Northwest Georgia Health System. In 1998, the system was renamed ].
