D.C. NRHP Nomination Forms

Hello! I've seen your excellent editing in the Washington D.C. area and I'm hoping you may can provide some guidance. I've been wanting to include the District's listings on the National Register of Historic Places in my scope of occasional filling in of missing articles and filling out of existing stubs. My prior work has been mostly in Virginia, where I've been spoiled by that state's Department of Historic Resources making all nomination forms accessible online soon after listing. Unless I'm missing something (including on your own userpage, which is why I know this may be a longshot), it doesn't appear as if any of D.C.'s nomination forms in the past decade have been digitized and made available online. Yeah, unfortunately there are a lot of forms that are not accessible on the NPS site. I find them via this link (for historic districts) and this link which has most of the nomination forms. This link includes info on District of Columbia Inventory of Historic Sites which are usually on the NRHP as well. It helps with finding contributing properties to a historic district. Re: Frida Kahlo painting

Hi APK! Had a quick question about a fair use image you uploaded a while back. I was just reading an article in Hyperallergic about works entering the public domain this year, and their reporter thinks that works by Kahlo ceased to be copyrighted this year. The licensing details on your photo of Kahlo's Self-Portrait Dedicated to Leon Trotsky has a public domain date for the United States of 2033. I was just wondering how you came to the 2033 date, and what the discrepancy might be - is that just an error, or is the Hyperallergic article missing something?

@19h00s: Happy New Year to you as well. The 2033 date was added by @DogeGamer2015MZT:. I'm not sure about the reasoning, but I'm not great at copyright laws when it comes to art. I just always err on the side of caution and quite a few photos I've uploaded as fair use have been changed to PD. If her works are now PD, I can reupload a higher resolution photo I took. The painting was published in 1937 so it remains copyrighted in the US until 2033, 96 years after publication, it is copyrighted in Mexico until 2055, 101 years after Kahlo's death. DogeGamer2015MZT (talk) 05:07, 2 January 2025 (UTC)
