Shortcuts

Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in two cases. The first case is restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions (G6) or stale Articles for creation drafts (G13)), or in deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. In the second use case, this page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be "userfied", i.e., restored as a draft or emailed to you; this way, the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). Be clear as to which namespace is intended, when requesting the restoration of a deleted article.

This means that content deleted after discussion – through deletion processes – may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process but through deletion review instead. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided.

Do not request that pages or media deleted under speedy deletion criteria F7, F9, F11, U5, A7, A9, A11, G3, G4, G10, G11 or G12 be undeleted here.

Old drafts can certainly be retrieved. However, when you request and get a draft restored, then don't touch it for six months, and it gets deleted again, and then you again request restoration, we are going to ask, as I did, if you are ready to immediately start working on it. As, again, Draft space is not an indefinite hosting service for material found to be unsuitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia's article mainspace. The subject exists in search results, on several pages, but both Google and DDG attempt to direct the search to a Misplaced Pages article which has been deleted. I see no particular reason for deleting, except an exclusionist philosophy; we (quite literally) debated inclusion versus exclusion when I was a child, and I am now grey in the beard. I am beyond frustrated not to be able to review the original content to decide for myself if it should have been deleted. The deleted content could be emailed to you, but you would need to associate an email address to your[REDACTED] user account. About your argument of consensus needing to have a minimum number of participants, you could take it up at WP:Deletion review, but you may want to talk to the deleting admin Randykitty first. I find this an obnoxious definition of "uncontroversial." An AfD failed, an annoyed user decided to try again, and on the second attempt got no engagement. An admin interpreted three participants in agreement as a consensus. That seems like an uncontested deletion to me.

However I am still working on the article and I was just about to add these 4 notable references that all explicitly address Mallers' role in the historical developments when El Salvador became the first country to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender:

Despite his very tender age Jack Mallers definitely earned his place in the history books and on Misplaced Pages.

As you can see with my previous article about Saifedean Ammous, I am making a serious effort to represent the Bitcoin space on Misplaced Pages in an objective fashion. Given the current further adoption of Bitcoin and crypto in the USA this space warrants good coverage. I know the rules for notoriety very well and only work on pages that for 100% sure need to be on Misplaced Pages. Feedback from the Bitcoin community is very welcome since I'm learning every day. Senseless deletions are counter productive.

Hi @Hajosmit: given that this was a soft deletion, we can refund the content into the draft space, but IMO you should then put this through AfC review rather than publishing directly, because the sources do not establish notability as you seem to think (assuming that's what you mean by "notoriety"?). PS What you say about Saifedean Ammous is really "out of line". His book "The Bitcoin Standard" got a separate article by somebody else. Ammous is a world renowned academic specialising in Austrian economics and author of the most influential book on Bitcoin. He is widely quoted. And operates one of the most influential podcasts on the subject as well. It is literally ridiculous to suggest that Ammous wouldn't deserve a Misplaced Pages page. What I say about notability is not out of line, it is very much in line with our notability guidelines, which are available for you to review at WP:N should you feel the need to do so. Soft deleted at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Horae Beatae Mariae Virginis (Rps BOZ 44). This was a really poor nomination by User:PARAKANYAA, who really ought to know better. It was notified to the wrong projects and not notified to the right ones! The wrong ones are Literature and Christianity, neither needed or likely to be interested, while it should have gone to Visual arts and Middle Ages. This is the standard title for a Book of hours (rather like The Bible) so of course "There appear to be several other items with the same name" - it was the most common type of late medieval manuscript. If there are other sources, they probably won't use this cataloguer's title. Unsurprisingly, no one turned up at the Afd. It may or not be notable, but the deletion needs to re-run properly. @Johnbod I did search for what it's worth and there was nothing on this specific copy except what was already in the article which was not enough. I reject the premise that not notifying one deletion sorting or another makes much difference. Do lots of what? Literature afds? Yes. As I explained, you won't find sources under that title, plus as it is in a Polish library, most sources are likely to be in Polish, which you presumably don't read. If you are going to notify any projects they should be the right ones - isn't that obvious? This isn't a "Literature afd" at all. @Snaggyelk10: there is nothing at that title (all-caps). Last survivors of historical events was deleted under G5. It contained a redirect to List of last survivors of historical events, which was deleted following this AfD discussion: Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/List of last survivors of historical events. I'm not sure what you mean by "deleted unintentionally", but if you're wanting to challenge the outcome of that AfD, you need to do so via deletion review WP:DRV.
