Unfortunately there are no biographies of Todros Geller written by scholars yet. I wish there were. Edit warring at Israeli settlement

To enforce an arbitration decision, you have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, please read the guide to appealing arbitration enforcement blocks and follow the instructions there to appeal your block.

Notice to administrators: In a March 2010 decision, the Committee held that "Administrators are prohibited from reversing or overturning (explicitly or in substance) any action taken by another administrator pursuant to the terms of an active arbitration remedy, and explicitly noted as being taken to enforce said remedy, except: (a) with the written authorization of the Committee, or (b) following a clear, substantial, and active consensus of uninvolved editors at a community discussion noticeboard (such as WP:AN or WP:ANI). If consensus in such discussions is hard to judge or unclear, the parties should submit a request for clarification on the proper page. Any administrator that overturns an enforcement action outside of these circumstances shall be subject to appropriate sanctions, up to and including desysopping, at the discretion of the Committee."

The complete report of this case is at WP:AN3#User:Noisetier reported by User:Supreme Deliciousness (Result: 48h).

The Arbitration Committee has permitted administrators to impose, at their own discretion, sanctions on any editor working on pages broadly related to the Arab-Israeli conflict if the editor repeatedly or seriously fails to adhere to the purpose of Misplaced Pages, any expected standards of behavior, or any normal editorial process. If you engage in further inappropriate behavior in this area, you may be placed under sanctions including blocks, a revert limitation or an article ban. The committee's full decision can be read at Misplaced Pages:Requests for arbitration/Palestine-Israel articles#Final decision. EdJohnston (talk) 17:41, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

District of Safed

Hi, regarding your edit at Dallata. Because there are quite a few examples of more than one village in Palestine of the same name, we usually identify which district of Palestine it was in (sometimes even in the article name). The unwritten convention among the editors who work on the village articles is to use the 1945-8 districts since that is what most modern sources use. See Districts of the British Mandate of Palestine, last section, where you will notice that we should be calling them "sub-districts" rather than "districts". Also, writing that a village was in Mandatory Palestine won't do, since that entity only lasted about 25 years but most of the villages were there for centuries. Saying that they were in Palestine would be more accurate. It can be confusing, but I think "Palestine" along with the past tense is about the best short solution. What are your thoughts (please reply here)? Zero 01:17, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

Hi Zero0000,
I didn't realize this. I should have looked inside the article
I think here about the "normal reader". Palestine alone could create conflicts. I would then suggest : "in the (sub-)disctrict of xxx, formerly in Palestine (today Israël)".

Hi there. If I may interject, I find that its preferable to se a geographical descriptor or distance from a major city in the first sentence. Many articles that were created as stubs se "District of ...." but I try to avoid it in ones I've worked on, using it only in titles where there is more than one village by the same name and there is a need for disambiguation.
About your proposed wording, I reject using "formerly Palestine", since it is a word with a geographical meaning that is still in contemporary use. Generally, I don't include "Palestine" as a place in the introduction, and only use in the history section to avoid the controversy its political meaning carries for some people. In any case, most intros do mention that the village now lies within Israel or that Israeli localities have been built in their place, so there is rarely any confusion over their present location.
For Dallata, I will make an edit that encapsulated some of what I have outlined above so that you can better understand my suggestion. Tiamut 17:02, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

Current version of Dallata is for me the best possible writing. I will try to follow the same "template".
I would suggest to replace ] by ] which is a better compromise complying with both historians and wikipedians mind on the topic. Noisetier (talk) 06:30, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
