If you've come here having recently ] that has just been marked to say it may soon be deleted, then please understand that we mean no harm in deleting your page. In fact, ]. We're delighted to have you, but the page you created seemed to be something other than an ] article. If it was a test, congratulations – you succeeded in creating a page. == Using this page ==
For articles that need deletion, add <nowiki>{{deletebecause|Reason.}}</nowiki> or <nowiki>{{db|Reason.}}</nowiki> to the top of the page. You should '''not''' wipe out the contents as it helps to check the contents to be deleted without having to look at the page history. This expands to:

{{db-reason|reason|category=}}

Replace ''Reason'' with the reason why the page should be deleted under the ].

Other templates available that give a reason include {{tl|nonsense}} and {{tl|db-bio}}. They may be used where appropriate.

(You can also use {{tl|delete}} or {{tl|d}} if you prefer not to provide a reason, but it is generally a good idea to provide a reason, even where it seems "obvious" to you.)

Note that if you just replace the content with <nowiki>{{db|reason}}</nowiki> the prior content will '''not''' be automatically added to the ] summary when the page is deleted.

See below for instructions regarding the deletion of personal subpages.

For articles that do not meet the ], please use ] (for deletions likely to meet no opposition) or ] (for controversial deletions). Please do not list pages here that are already listed there.

== Advice for administrators ==
* Review our ]
* Use ] for a list of pages
* Check talk pages, page history, what links here (especially for potentially controversial user pages), etc. If there is a dispute over whether the page should be deleted, consider first listing it on ]
* If the page to be deleted is directly related to a specific user or that user's activities, consider moving the page to that user's personal userspace (and deleting the redirect) instead of deleting it outright.
* Don't worry too much — new pages patrol is unpleasant, and people will make mistakes. ] goes through the deletion logs to catch stuff that shouldn't have been speedied, without rancor or excessive red tape. Feel free to be efficient!

== Deletion of personal pages ==
Unless you are a ], it is not possible to delete your own user pages and subpages, so they must be listed here. If you are a ], it is recommended that you also list your pages here so they can be deleted by another ]. For your main user or talk pages, you must list them here, not delete them yourself, to avoid the appearance that sysops can delete to hide negative comments, while others can't.

Only post pages from your '''own''' personal page, and only if you have a genuine reason for requesting a personal page of yours be deleted, please list it here.

Please see ] for further instructions, and ] for past discussion on this issue.

==Questioned speedy deletions==

=== Chess biographies of ], ], and ]. ===

] made a request for speedy deletion of these three chess biographies and they were all deleted within a matter of a few minutes before anybody had a chance to react. These are all very well known people both in chess and in their own countries. All of them are the presidents of the chess federations of their respective countries. In no way can they be considered non-notable. Please note that ] has a long history of vandalizing almost every biography I post about chess. ] 05:09, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

After that article was speedied based on CSD A8, I nominated the others for speedy as they appeared based on their similarity with the already-speedied earlier article. I defer to the admins on what best to do with them but my view is that these people are non-notable, and that Misplaced Pages is not an appropriate venue for political campaigning. ] 09:05, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

Vampygames is extremley well known in our area, and I have heard several complaints that it still does not have a Misplaced Pages entry. I took the initiative and made it. 'Trout bum' is a highly notable term in the flyfishing world and was first coined in the 1980s by John Gierach, the dean of flyfishing literature in his work, "Trout Bum." Trout Bums are famous throughout flyfishing, to the point that clothing is labelled with the (non-commercial) phrase "Trout Bum." The statement "I am a trout bum" is a bit of a manifesto among those who fly fish. In short, this is not a new concept (neologism) or something undeserving of notice (non-notable). Incidentally, non-notable is a word and non-notabile is not; why is it misspelled in the speedy deletion notice?

This term deserves recognition.

The reason given for this stub's speedy delete is non-notability. I have since expanded its content somewhat, and linked to other articles on Misplaced Pages, in an attempt to rectify the situation. I'm also going to repost what I wrote on the article's talk page:

Seiji Kameda is a music producer involved with several albums by ], a popular japanese band. The Jenova Project is a very popular name in the Metal scene of Bangladesh, and the mysterious nature of the band and its members adds to its popularity. The band has already achieved a kind of celebrity status among "Metal freaks". As for the band not having an album released yet...an album deal has already been signed with a record label called G-Series. The only reason why it hasn't yet been released is rather simple -- all the band members are students, and they are busy with studies, exams and whatnot, and hence the recording sessions have been put on hold until the end of May 2006. Please, PLEASE don't delete this article.

This is my own user sub-page. It's not an article on the mainspace. People on the discussion at ] told me that it was a good idea to move the list to a personal subpage instead, so I did just that. I'm not exactly sure why this was deleted. Jonathan Burdick is the popular writer for Cinema Fusion (http://www.cinemafusion.com), which gets thousands of hits per day, and is widely spoken and discussed about on internet message boards and towns across America. He has two novels in the works, and his short writings have quickly gathered a cult following. --] 04:29, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

Let's not speedy this. The person and incident described are real and easy to find in Google and I can see a case for this being a notable event. At most this should be an AfD with an appropriate discussion before we delete it. I don't see this being an obvious speedy, maybe all it really needs is to be expanded and improved?
