:I think a primary issue with Microman in particular is that most of the promotional material related to it, particular the tie-in fiction like manga and books, actually hasn't been digitized in any way (and therefore is completely inaccessible via the internet). Microman fans have notoriously lamented the fact most of the material published in "Bouken Oh" magazine can only be read by tracking down the original issues themselves, which were published on worn out newsprint with poor durability (and this material has never been subsequently reprinted anywhere).
:Therefore, the only digital trace of these sources is mentions of them on non-affiliate sites like the ones listed above. That by itself could be an issue, but given many of these same non-affiliate sites also have/provide scanned pictures of these sources (sometimes which they scanned themselves), that's more proof corroborating their statements about these text materials than just their word alone. ] (]) 20:38, 3 July 2024 (UTC)

There seems to be no mention of the 2005 Manga "Microman: Theology" under the fiction section. Could be advisable to add information about this short lived piece of tie-in fiction, for the sake of completion. ] (]) 15:46, 22 June 2024 (UTC)

Recent Edits and Cleanup

@Drmies:, first I actually respect your POV and your recent attention to this article. Perhaps there is a silver lining to the piles of IP address edits that have been seen recently. But that said, I feel I need to directly address a few of the edits and comments you have left in the edits.

At the end of the day, this article was not much of anything—badly written, sourced or researched—until my edits began in 2015. The last edits were in 2014 and the page’s state (as seen here) speaks for itself.

So I would happily work with someone who is a more experienced editor than me to shape, improve and allow this page to shine. But in the case of the IP address edits that brought this page to your attention, I cannot take them as good faith edits nor can I take them seriously. To a positive future for this page and its content! I hope… --SpyMagician (talk) 15:38, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

  • Just some quick answers: if Lorphanpaibul is already cited and linked dozens of times, there is no conceivable justification for also having him in the EL section. Please read WP:EL--the other links are (likewise) to fan sites, and we just don't link those. If somehow or other one or another of these sites is a reliable source, it can be cited as a secondary sources, but that still doesn't mean it should also be linked in the EL section. In general, WP:SECONDARY--these articles suffer from a lack of reliable secondary sources and from a plethora of really non-encyclopedic material. And I just noticed (and removed) File:Screenshot of Micronaut Mobile Exploration Lab in Time Bandits.jpg and another one: those shots did not meet the requirements for fair use of non-free material; I think you uploaded that and maybe another file. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 15:46, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

Vandalism, false accusation of

The productive conversation is in the section above. This section is a waste of electrons. --Floquenbeam (talk) 18:36, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

As a fan of Microman since childhood I took it upon my self to rid the page of some recent vandalism.--Macro The Islander (talk) 15:53, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

Keep an eye out for vandalism by User:Drmies, he's a known vandal of the page.--Macro The Islander (talk) 16:13, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

@Macro The Islander: I really don’t know what to think about your sudden appearance on a page that is now in the midst of some odd edit warring—let alone a page that is far from popular—but want to clearly state your presence is welcome as long as you contributions are positive and do not escalate an edit war. If there is some “game” here and you are a part if it, I cannot back you up nor validate or support your actions. And for the Wiki-paranoid out there, I have no clue who Macro The Islander and am somewhat baffled by their sudden appearance as well. --SpyMagician (talk) 16:17, 20 September 2017 (UTC)
@SpyMagician: Hey, yes I just was visiting the page and decided to look at the history, totally by chance. I ended up seeing someone had deleted a large amount of content and decided to intervene as this is not constructive to the article.--Macro The Islander (talk) 16:20, 20 September 2017 (UTC)
  • SpyMagician, feel free to check the history of my talk page, for instance--there's more than a few people who have nothing better to do than to follow and troll me. Some of those are now-banned editors, others are simply blocked vandals. Drmies (talk) 16:41, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

Self-published sources (fansites and Transformers Wiki)

For the last few months I've been trying to cleanup both Microman and Micronauts and remove several unreliable references that were using self-published sources (several fansites and the Transformers Wiki) and, unfortunately, getting into an edit war with SpyMagician over it and having my edits reverted, even after mentioning on his talk page that fansites and wikis aren't reliable sources. 86.190.193.5 (talk) 18:15, 25 January 2018 (UTC)

I think a primary issue with Microman in particular is that most of the promotional material related to it, particular the tie-in fiction like manga and books, actually hasn't been digitized in any way (and therefore is completely inaccessible via the internet). Microman fans have notoriously lamented the fact most of the material published in "Bouken Oh" magazine can only be read by tracking down the original issues themselves, which were published on worn out newsprint with poor durability (and this material has never been subsequently reprinted anywhere).
Therefore, the only digital trace of these sources is mentions of them on non-affiliate sites like the ones listed above. That by itself could be an issue, but given many of these same non-affiliate sites also have/provide scanned pictures of these sources (sometimes which they scanned themselves), that's more proof corroborating their statements about these text materials than just their word alone. Missing info on "Microman: Theology"

There seems to be no mention of the 2005 Manga "Microman: Theology" under the fiction section. Could be advisable to add information about this short lived piece of tie-in fiction, for the sake of completion. MrDrFactChecker (talk) 15:46, 22 June 2024 (UTC)
