Request to remove headline regarding battle of baghuz fawqani. This battle is in a ping pong mode with offensive stopping and starting every other day, an IP adress has added it in todays events as if there was a change in the battle but there isn't. The IP has edit warred, causing the article to be locked. Now his edit is stuck there. Can somebody remove it. It is really pointless and stuck there forever now. Jim7049 (talk) 00:08, 12 March 2019 (UTC) Jim7049 (talk) 00:08, 12 March 2019 (UTC)

You were also edit warring. See WP:WRONGVERSION as well. Madness 00:23, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
That WP:WRONGVERSION thing doesn't make sense. So what it says is if an article got locked because of an edit warred it should stay in the form it is when it got locked? What if it was something illogical like it currently is, should it stay that way since there was an edit war? Jim7049 (talk) 00:32, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
Jim7049 - You need to understand that making repeated back-and-forth reverts to an article or page is edit warring and disruptive, and is a violation of policy no matter how "correct" that you believe your changes are, or how "correct" you believe that you are. If it's a content-related dispute, then there's no deviation or exception when it comes to Misplaced Pages's policies and the expectation that edits are within their compliance; all editors must follow Misplaced Pages's dispute resolution protocol and discuss the issue between them and come to a consensus or agreement. Edit warring is not acceptable.
When I go to apply full protection to an article and due to disputes and edit warring, the revision and the article's content is completely irrelevant to me and I put no basis into "choosing the right revision" first when doing so. Whatever revision is published at the time I apply the protection is essentially the "luck of the draw". Unless there's a serious policy violation which warrants me to remove and fix it immediately (such as a BLP violation or violation of copyright), I don't care about whose revision is currently published while the article is protected. It's up to you to change what's currently published by discussing the dispute and coming up with the solution that everyone can agree upon.
I hope my response has provided some clarity and helped to answer your questions regarding WP:WRONGVERSION. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to message me on my user talk page and I'll be happy to answer them and help you. Keep youself outta trouble; work things out with the other editors, don't engage in any more edit warring behavior, and collaborate with the other editors in a respectful and positive manner. ;-) Cheers - ~Oshwah~ 14:19, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
