Koaile Monaheng (born 15 November 1993) is a climate activist in Lesotho. He is the associate director of Khantša Energy, a social enterprise co-creating clean energy solutions through indigenous knowledge by providing mobile solar power to rural communities in Lesotho.

Early years

After attending Maseru Preparatory School and Machabeng College, where he completed his International Baccalaureate (IB). He pursued his higher education at Rhodes University, earning a BSci in Political and International Studies, followed by an Honors degree in International Studies. In 2024, Monaheng earned a Master of Philosophy in Climate Change and Development from the University of Cape Town.

Career

In 2022 he was selected as one of 5 winners of the Mandela-Rhodes Foundation's Äänit Prize award for social impact. In 2023 he appeared in the 'FORBES AFRICA 30 Under 30' Class of 2023, making history as the first Mosotho to be included on the Forbes Africa under 30 list.In 2022, Khantša Energy, the business he works for, won the Mail & Guardian: Greening the Future: Clean and Renewable Energy Projects award.
