Reroute to Remain is the sixth studio album by In Flames. The album was released on September 3, 2002 on Nuclear Blast. Reroute to Remain was In Flames' first big step towards mainstream music, and was rejected by sections of In Flames' fanbase upon its release. It is sometimes viewed as a transitional album between Clayman and Soundtrack to Your Escape. The album's more accessible sound attracted many new fans, and launched In Flames into the US metal scene, securing them a spot on Ozzfest. However, many fans of In Flames' earlier albums rejected this release, claiming that the band had sold out because of its American influences from scenes like alternative metal, nu metal and metalcore. The lyrics deal with internal struggles and despair. The album peaked at #13 on the Top Independent Albums chart. Two singles were released, Trigger and Cloud Connected.
