Moreover, it appears that the two performers in question may be Celine Dion and Elvis Presley, the latter through a combination of actual footage, both visual and vocal of the rock singer's performance of the inspirational song "If I can dream" (taken in 1968)for the close-ups, combined with footage of a well know Elvis impersonator lypsicing to the song whilst appearing next to Ms. Dion, who will indeed be singing, on a pre-recorded and filmed segment for the long shots with the impersonator, as well as alone for her own individual close-ups. Simultaneously, the American Idol contestants still competing will appear as back up singers, during the pre-recorded segment showing Ms. Dion and the impersonator, dressed in white, to match Presley's appearance in the 1968 tape. | |||

Idol Gives Back is a charity event created by the producers of Fox program American Idol.
The event, which will take place over two episodes of the series on April 24 and 25, 2007, was introduced on the March 8, 2007, episode of the show by host Ryan Seacrest, with help from judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson. Show sponsors Coke, Ford Motor Company, and AT&T will contribute to the event in a variety of ways and "various other sponsors" will participate as well. The April 25 show will feature guest performers such as Borat Sagdiyev, Josh Groban, P!nk, Akon, Carrie Underwood, and first idol winner Kelly Clarkson. It is a combined AIDS/Hurricane Katrina relief effort. The event is administered by the Charity Projects Entertainment Fund. Ryan Seacrest also mentioned the names Daniel Radcliffe of the Harry Potter series, and Gwen Stefani as donors during the April 3, 2007 episode of American Idol.
Starting on April 18, 2007, reports by various news sources and by American Idol officials indicated that "two of the best selling stars in the history of popular music" will appear in the episode scheduled for Wednesday, 25 April.
