This is about TCG games and all about them
TCGs are some of the most popular games revolving around collecting, trading and playing with them. Some of these games have became massive including such as YU-GI-OH, Pokemon and Magic the Gathering.
Pokemon
What is Pokemon?
Pokemon is arguably the biggest TCG and they are also, considered by some, the father of modern TCGs. It consists of monsters and in total (as of now) there are 1025 of them.
Popularity
Pokemon have made 98 English sets, 53 billion cards, 9 generations, 27 anime seasons and 28 movies as a single franchise! Pokemon has a massive fan base and it's the second most popular game after Mario, so good for Nintendo. This is shown by the busy streets in Japan after a single Snorlax was found in Pokemon Go.
Prices
Pokemon like most TCGs average price of a modern pack is around £5, A Elite Trainer Box (8-9 packs + game goodies) is worth £50 and a booster box (36 packs) is worth around £150 but it varies with the set. The demand and price for Pokemon can be shown by the Pikachu Illustrator card which is worth $5,275,000 although this is only a fraction of their net worth which is over $150 BILLION. This show how expensive it can be although only a few cards can get over a million. Most are below £1000.

What is a TCG?
A TCG is a game revolving around collecting cards. The most popular ones come in packs or boxes although not all of them. They often have something unique, and this is usually a game to go alongside it.
Another main part is Trading. This is where you can exchange cards for other cards that you want more.

The T in TCG stands for trading,the C for card and the G for came so Trading Card Game.

Arguably the most popular TCG and fan base is Pokemon with a net worth of $150 billion although there are many other hits including one piece, Yu-GI-OH! and Magic the Gathering. These are probably the 4 most known.
Are there TCGs for other things not original?
Yes, Star Wars, Marvel, Disney and Pixar (to name a few) have all released sets for your favorite characters.
Can I afford a pack?
Most likely as the most expensive modern packs go up to £5 although older ones are much more.
If you are looking to show off with your first edition Charizard (but you don't have one yet) you can buy fake cards for much cheaper although I personally don't recommend it.
