The Stolen Costume is the thirteen episode of the hit 1950s juvenile action show Adventures of Superman, based on the DC Comics character Superman.
Plot Outline
After foiling a bank heist, Superman is stunned to learn that a criminal has stolen his costume to impersonate him to commit crimes. As Clark Kent, he must find a way to get it back and clear his name, without revealing he actually is Superman in the process. In the end, he uses a clever trick to get it back without raising any questions.
Trivia
- This is one of the few episodes in which Jimmy Olsen (Jack Larson), Lois Lane (Phyllis Coates), and John Hamilton's Perry White do not appear in, although Clark mentions them at times in the episode.
- The Stolen Costume is regarded as one of the best episodes in the series.
- Bruce Timm used a similar storyline for the Batman: The Animated Series episode: The Cape and Cowl Conspiracy, albeit with different plot twist and situations.
