On January 16, 2007, the new Bethpage High School Performing Arts Center was unveiled. The First Performance was the Winter Concert. Due to work on the auditorium, the guild did not perform its usual fall musical. The auditorium contains its own sound system, waiting room, dressing rooms, and lighting booth. Their latest performance was "West Side Story".
Student Civic Association
The Bethpage High School Student Civic association is a renowned community service association composed of current attendees of Bethpage High School. The organization is grass-roots in nature and egalitarian, being open to all those willing to join. It is famous for its annual philanthropic talent show, numerous blood drives, national support programs including Hurricane relief, its participation in the annual Marty Lyons Christmas Party for terminally ill children, and various other altruistic endeavors.
Football
Bethpage's varsity football team has won 10 Nassau County and five Long Island Championships since 1984 when the playoffs expanded to four teams. In 1952, Howard C. Vogts created the first team. Vogts' career record is 342-114-10 mark over 53 seasons. One of Bethpage's most notable records was a 60-game home unbeaten streak (59-0-1) between 1989 and 2004. It ended on October 23, 2004 when the Golden Eagles who were led by starting Senior quarterback Peter Houck, lost 27-0 to the Wantagh Warriors, snapping the streak that spanned 15 years at Howie Vogts' Field. Later in the playoffs, the Eagles suffered another loss at the hands of Wantagh, eliminating Bethpage from the playoffs.
In 2006, Bethpage's football team's record was 8-2. The team was the Conference III champion. Trevor Michaelsen holds the second for most PAT's in a career and in also single season.
