Old Kai would point out the perfection of the fusion. He noted that Goku and Vegeta were two of the strongest beings in their worlds and the next, so naturally their fusion would create a powerful entity. Also, the fact that the two were actual rivals actually assisted in making the fusion complete. Old Kai would point out the perfection of the fusion. Full-blooded Saiyans

Broli

File:Broli Mugshot.png
Broli's Legendary Super Saiyan form

Broli (ブロリー, Burorī) is the featured villain in the eighth and tenth movies of the anime Dragon Ball Z, with his clone acting as antagonist in the eleventh. He is described as the once-in-a-millennia "Legendary Super Saiyan", born on the same day as Son Goku. At birth, he had an unusually high level of strength for a Saiyan, and their king, fearing the boy's potential, ordered for his execution, leaving he and his father Paragus for dead. Both would survive, with Broli growing in strength from his brush with death. Freeza would then act on his own fear of the Super Saiyan legend, laying waste to Planet Vegeta. Amid the destruction, Broli encased himself and his father in a powerful shield of energy and escaped.

As strong as Broli was, his emotional instability was greater. Fearing Broli's state of mind, Paragus had a scientist create a special control device to keep Broli under control. Successful in controlling him, Paragus planned to have revenge on King Vegeta's son, Vegeta. When Broli encountered Goku his behavior became erratic, driven to attack Goku without provocation over a perceived childhood trauma. Eventually, Broli overpowered the device, fully manifesting his powers and unleashing his fury on Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Trunks, Piccolo, and his own father. The Z warriors eventually channeled their energy into Goku, who with one last powerful blow seemingly killed Broli.

Broli survived and entered a Saiyan Space Pod, coincidently landing on Earth. The crater caused by his landing filled up with water and froze over time, during which he fell into a coma. During this time, Gohan grew up, Son Goten was born and Goku was in the Afterlife. In an adventure to collect the Dragon Balls, Goten, Trunks, and Gohan find themselves in the mountain range where Broli crashed. Broli awakens and Goten, Trunks, Videl, and Gohan became victims to his rampage. It was only after some spiritual help from Goku that they were able to send Broli straight into the sun. After death, he is mentioned to still be causing trouble in Hell.

It is later revealed that a sample of his blood was preserved, which was used to clone Broli in a bioengineering laboratory. With his power, the Broli clone shatters the tank in which he was created. Once in open air, the liquid that drenched the clone became corrosive and devoured cellular matter that was unlike itself, turning the clone into a bio-mutant. This Bio-Broli goes on a rampage, causing leaks in other bio-liquid containers and spilling them throughout the laboratory and the island on which it was located. Goten and Trunks help others escape from the lab and fire ki blasts onto the sea, causing a tidal wave to flood the island and solidifying the bio-liquid, neutralizing the hazard. However, Bio-Broli reemerged as a giant only to be solidified himself. Seeing their opportunity, Goten, Trunks, and Kuririn blasted the indurate clone into oblivion.

In terms of power, Broli is unique in that unlike most Super Saiyans, who gain a great boost of power and grow weaker over the course of a battle, Broli would actually gain more energy the longer the battles went and would have to unleash massive amounts of it to keep it from overwhelming him, given the certain actions he seems to take during battle. He fights with powerful, wrestling style attacks and uses a combination of various remote controlled energy balls, blasts, and even at times will simply unleash massive torrents of his signature green energy at his enemies, sometimes firing dozens and dozens of blasts at a single target at once, yet without the blasts seeming to have been aimed, but rather just hurled in a group.

Burdock

File:Burdock.jpg
Burdock

Burdock (バーダック, Bādakku) is first introduced in the television special, Bardock - The Father of Goku. It was only after the film's airing in Japan that he was later shown in two panels of the Dragon Ball manga by Akira Toriyama, who helped design the character for Toei Doga's television production. His name is a play on the herb of the same name. While the Viz manga and FUNimation's Japanese-language English-subtitled anime both use "Burdock", FUNimation's English anime dubs uses "Bardock", and some Japanese merchandise even use "Barduck".

The biological father of Raditz and Son Goku, Burdock is a Saiyan who is given the gift of precognition. In several of his recurring visions, he witnesses the destruction of his home planet Vegeta by the hand of Freeza. After escaping certain death from Dodoria, he tries desperately to change his planet's grim future by attempting to combat Freeza and his legion of men head on. He ultimately fails on ceasing Freeza's attack on the planet and is killed in the process. Moments before his death, he received a vision of his son facing the warlord. According to the anime special, Burdock was estimated a battle power of 10,000 by observant doctors while recovering from his last mission.

King Vegeta

King Vegeta (ベジータ王, Bejīta Ō) was the king of the Saiyans, and is mentioned several times in the manga, however only appears in filler episodes and movies. Believed to have been the strongest Saiyan, in the manga, it was said that he had been surpassed by his own child, also named Vegeta. Before the attack on Planet Vegeta, he realized that Freeza was afraid of the Saiyans, and he coordinated an assault on Freeza. According to the anime filler, his attempt to attack Freeza failed as he was easily killed. The Saiyan elites that followed were also defeated by Freeza. In the movie Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan, he ordered both Broli and his father Paragus' to be killed, because he was afraid of Broli's abnormally high power.

King Vegeta is only seen in the anime special, the film Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan, and in some original scenes in the anime series. His appearance is never shown nor described in the manga, but he is mentioned briefly in a dialogue from Freeza to Vegeta in the original manga.

Nappa

Nappa (ナッパ) is an elite Saiyan warrior that accompanied Vegeta to Earth in search of the Dragon Balls. He has a somewhat violent nature. He survived the attacks of Tenshinhan and Chaozu which drained their lives. He put Piccolo to death with his incredible might, but fell powerless to Son Goku who had returned to Earth with new training from North Kaio. Vegeta ordered Nappa to stop fighting due to Goku's clear dominance over him. He was then executed by Vegeta when defeated by Goku.

He returned briefly as one of the escapees from Hell in Dragon Ball GT, only to be killed by Vegeta again.

Onio

Onio is a short fat Saiyan from the self-parody Neko Majin Z. He comes to Earth in a spaceship that reads "Just Marriage" (An English version of "Just Married"), and tells his wife he's thinking of making the planet their summer home. When Z sees them land, he decides they must be Japanese tourists, and puts on a Koala suit. Z tricks Onio and his wife into getting their picture taken, but grabs the wife's right breast while the picture is being taken. Onio notices this, and transforms into a Super Saiyan. After a short battle, Z transforms, and says now he's a "Super Neko Majin". The two continue to fight for a while, and Z beats him with a "NekoHameHa". Onio's wife drags him to the ship, and the two leave Earth.

Onio later comes back to Earth with Kuriza, and says that Kuriza is the strongest warrior in the universe, so it appears that Onio is Kuriza's henchman. Onio sticks around on Earth for a while to watch Kuriza fight Z and to play soccer.

Paragus

The father of Broli, when Freeza destroyed Planet Vegeta, Broli used a sphere of his own power to protect himself and Paragus, and transport them to another planet. Paragus raised Broli, and eventually had a scientist create a crown capable of restraining, and controlling Broli's rage and power. Paragus later came up with a plan to get revenge on Vegeta, but failed due to Broli breaking the crown and going berserk. He was killed by Broli who threw his escape pod into a comet. Paragus also makes a cameo appearance in Movie 12 as a villain in the background behind Freeza after they escape from hell.

Raditz

File:Raditz.jpg
Raditz

Raditz (ラディッツ, Radittsu) is the biological brother of Son Goku and the eldest son of Burdock. Raditz went to Earth to help in the planet's invasion, and to persuade his younger brother Goku to join the Saiyans in their conquest. However, disappointed to discover that Goku had lost his memories and adjusted to life on Earth, Raditz kidnapped Gohan and tried to force Goku to become an ally. During his battle with Goku and Piccolo, Gohan seeing his father in danger explodes with rage and delivers a massive amount of damage to Raditz in a single blow. Taking advantage of the situation, Goku puts Raditz in a full nelson and demands Piccolo to kill them both with the Makankosappo. Just before his death, he sneered that two more powerful Saiyans, Vegeta and Nappa, would be coming to Earth in one year's time.

Seripa

The only female member of Burdock's crew. After Burdock is attacked by one of the last surviving members of Kanassa, Seripa and others decided to return him back to their homeworld Planet Vegeta so that he could be healed. After hearing that there is some possible damage in his brainwave patterns they've decided to leave without him to destroy the inhabitants on Planet Meat as their next assignment. After reaching Meat they immediately destroy all of its natives, but before they could celebrate the moment, she and the rest of the team were ambushed and killed by a group of Freeza's minions on his orders, including Dodoria. She resembles Videl in both looks and hairstyle but is more muscular.

Toma

A tall masculine member of Burdock's team. He is Burdock's best friend and the only person Burdock gets a chance to talk to when he finds his group slaughtered by Dodoria and some of Freeza's underlings. The bloodstained headband that Burdock wears was worn by Toma as an armband when he was still alive. Burdock removed it from him after his death and wore it as a headband honoring his team.

Tullece

Tullece

Tullece (ターレス, Tāresu) is a lower-class Saiyan warrior and former servant of Freeza, serving as the main villain in the third Dragon Ball Z feature The Tree of Might. He leads a small group of renegade warriors across the universe on a spree of destruction. His appearance is similar to that of Son Goku, albeit with grayish colored skin and standard Saiyan battle armor. Contrary to popular belief, Tullece is not related to Goku in any way, as lower-class Saiyans tend to resemble one another due to similar genetic structures.

Partial Saiyans

Bra

Bra (ブラ, Bura) is the second child (after Trunks) of Bulma and Vegeta. Unlike Pan who acts tomboyish, Bra acts feminine and sticks around her mom. Like Bulma, Bra has blue hair in the anime and purple hair in the manga. Her father doesn't appear to make a point of encouraging her to train (like he does to her brother Trunks), but the two are quite close, as it becomes apparent in Dragon Ball GT, where Vegeta proves to be very protective of his daughter on multiple occasions. During the Baby Saga, Bra (along with the rest of the world) is possessed by Baby. She is one of the four characters who help Baby become stronger; after this, however, her role is greatly reduced. Although she has never been seen in combat (She'd rather shop than train), except when Baby had her under his control, she does have the ability to fly through use of her ki.

Son Goku Jr.

Son Goku Jr. (孫 悟空, Son Gokū Junia) only appears in Dragon Ball GT, and is assumed to be Son Goku's great great grandson. Son Goku jr. in the Dragon Ball GT Perfect Files is simply labeled as a descendent of Son Goku, Son Gohan and Pan, however he is not officially confirmed to be Pan's grandson. In the Dragon Ball GT special, he is seen to be very timid, and would run away from situations like being bullied. He would not do anything to retrieve what was stolen from him. He is seen at the end of Dragon Ball GT, fighting in what may be the 64th Tenkaichi Budōkai against a distant descendant of Vegeta's, Vegeta Jr. He also appears in the DBGT special, A Hero's Legacy, in which he meets his ancestor, Goku. Despite the Daizenshuu stating that anyone with less then half Saiyan heritage can't become a Super Saiyan, Son Goku Jr. has the ability to transform into a Super Saiyan.

His gi resembles Goku's, with the exception of having blue pants and a teal shirt underneath his vest (though in the finale of Dragon Ball GT, he wore Goku's preserved, ancient gi). Goku Jr.'s hair is in the same style, shape and form of Goku's. His hair and eye color are both black. His headband is red, which makes it resemble the headband Burdock wore. His skin color resembles Son Gohan's; milky white or very lightly tanned.

Vegeta Jr.

Vegeta Jr. Vegeta (ベジータ JR., Bejīta Junia) only appears in the last episode of Dragon Ball GT during the 64th Tenkaichi Budokai, and is assumed to be Vegeta's great-great grandson. Like Son Goku Jr., he is simply labled as a descendant of Vegeta's, and isn't actually confirmed to be Vegeta's great great grandson. Like Son Goku Jr., he has the ablility to transform into a Super Saiyan, despite the 7th Daizenshuu stating that anyone less then half Saiyan heritage can't become a Super Saiyan.

Fusions

Gogeta

Gogeta (ゴジータ, Gojīta) is the result of Son Goku and Vegeta merged together as a single entity by the means of the Fusion Dance. He first appears in Fusion Reborn. Even when fighting side-by-side, Goku and Vegeta realized they wouldn't be able to defeat the monster Janemba. Thus, Goku persuaded Vegeta to do the Fusion Dance with him. Gogeta's appearance has characteristics inherited from both Goku (face, the hair over his face, and physique) and Vegeta (hairstyle and widow's peak), but the clothes he wears are in the fashion of the Metamorans, the alien race that developed the Fusion Technique. While neither Goku nor Vegeta were a match for Janemba on their own, Gogeta had the strength and speed to overpower the monster, and easily defeated him.

Gogeta makes a second appearance in Dragon Ball GT, this time transformed into a Super Saiyan 4. At Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta's suggestion, he and Super Saiyan 4 Goku unite to battle the seemingly unstoppable Super Yi Xing Long. Aside from his bright scarlet hair (which is in the shape of Super Saiyan 4 Goku's hairstyle) and burgundy colored fur (which is a lighter shade of Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta's hair color), Gogeta's characteristics are similar to that of a usual Super Saiyan 4 in addition to still wearing his previously seen Metamoran costume. Unlike his regular Super Saiyan state, in which he is a deliberate, no-nonsense fighter, Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta takes on a somewhat of a wild, cocky demeanor, similar to Vegetto. He toys with and taunts the evil dragon lord, only getting serious after he'd tricked the dragon into using his Negative Karma Ball so that he could turn it into positive energy and undo the damage that had been done to the earth by the Evil Dragons. He is completely invulnerable to any attack due to the immense power gap between him and pretty much all other opponents. His only weakness, his inability to maintain the fusion for more than 10 minutes, left him just short of time to finish off Super Yi Xing Long after repairing the planet.

Veku

Veku appears in Fusion Reborn, with Vegeta reluctant to perform the Fusion Dance, he and Goku botched the first attempt. The result was the creation of the fat, roly-poly warrior named Veku. Since the Fusion that created him had been a blunder, Veku's power level was extremely low, and perhaps his stomach was upset as well, for he pathetically and repeatedly passed gas. Due to his unpredictable motion and repeated gas attacks, Veku somehow managed to survive for 30 minutes against Janemba, after which a second Fusion Dance was performed correctly and Gogeta was properly formed.

Gotenks

File:Gotenks SSJ3.jpg
Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks

Gotenks (ゴテンクス, Gotenkusu) is the result of the Fusion Dance when performed by Son Goten and Trunks. Gotenks is the only character in the original series that was produced through the fusion dance. When Gotenks was made in the original series, it took several attempts for Goten and Trunks to successfully produce him. Gotenks is seen to be cocky and arrogant, as well as having the ability to be easily distracted. At the start of his appearance, Gotenks is rebellious, however, he later learns to follow the advice of his mentor Piccolo.

During his training, he reveals the ability to transform into a Super Saiyan 3, where he nearly defeats the villain Buu. The immense ki required for Super Saiyan 3 limits the time that Gotenks can stay fused, and he is later absorbed by Buu. After defusing within Buu's body, Gotenks is not seen again except for a filler episode near the end of Dragon Ball Z.

Vegetto

Vegetto

Vegetto (ベジット, Bejitto) was a desperate fusion by Vegeta and Goku using the Potara Earrings in an effort to defeat Majin Buu, and he is the strongest character in the original Dragon Ball series (not including Dragon Ball GT).

File:Vegetto Super Saiyan.jpg
Super Saiyan Vegetto

After he was made, Vegetto transformed into a Super Saiyan and utterly outclassed Super Buu in every aspect. Vegetto is also seen to be able to be in full control of his body when Buu turns him into a jawbreaker in an attempt to absorb him into his body. After being turned back into his original form by Buu, Vegetto puts up a force field and allows Buu to absorb him, in order to rescue the ones who Buu had absorbed. The force field had protected Vegetto from being absorbed into Buu's system, however, the magical atmosphere of Buu's body disolves Vegetto's fusion, and the supposed permanent fusion splits into Goku and Vegeta again. Vegetto is never seen again.

Old Kai would point out the perfection of the fusion. He noted that Goku and Vegeta were two of the strongest beings in their worlds and the next, so naturally their fusion would create a powerful entity. Also, the fact that the two were actual rivals actually assisted in making the fusion complete.

The name Vegetto is a portmanteau of the names Vegeta and Kakarotto, the latter being Goku's Saiyan birthname. The spelling Vegetto is the official trade name of the character in Japan, as evident by its appearance in Jump Ultimate Stars and merchandise such as the Super Battle Collection action figures. Because of the way Viz transliterates Goku's Saiyan name into Kakarrot, Vegetto's name was changed into "Vegerot" in their translation of the manga.
