Hi, Yes, I'm actually into transhumanism, but for me that is merely an extension of the life stance of humanism, which provides the basis of my personal values. To me, the most interesting pursuits of transhumanists are anti-aging, life extension, and human enhancement (via nootropics, etc.). And strapping jet-powered wings to your back. The future is coming fast – the technological singularity may be just around the corner. I've been an editor here since October of 2005 (initially without an account), and have volunteered tens of thousands of hours. Keep in mind that I'm fairly knowledgeable about the encyclopedia, how it and its community is structured, and how it operates... So, if you've lost your way and can't find what you are looking for in the Misplaced Pages community, if I don't know where it is, I can usually find it pretty fast. Or, if you've hit a brick wall and can't figure something out, if I don't know the solution, I can usually find one fairly quickly, or at least help you get in touch with someone who can help. Concerning Misplaced Pages, you could say I'm a:
The sum of all human knowledge... NopeIt has been claimed that this is Misplaced Pages's goal.
But under the current policies of what Misplaced Pages is and is not, it does not strive to contain all knowledge. For linguistic information, see a dictionary. If you wish to learn how to cook, or how to do just about anything, keep in mind that Misplaced Pages shuns recipes and how to instructions. Other types of knowledge that Misplaced Pages does not do well disseminating include experience and tacit knowledge. Misplaced Pages's scope, including the level of detail it delves down into, is also limited by its notability policy. A more accurate slogan describing Misplaced Pages and its objective would be "A summary of the world's knowledge". Progression towards automationTechnology is undergoing accelerating change. We're definitely seeing it here too. Misplaced Pages is acquiring more and more computerized features over time, and more and more edits are being done by bot. Eventually, automated edits will far exceed human edits. Subfields of artificial intelligence directly relevant to Misplaced Pages are natural language processing and machine learning. Through these, computer programs will take on the responsibility of tasks that historically could only be done by people. Such as composing and updating articles, fact checking and citing references, building the topic navigation systems, and so on. Eventually, computers will be able to write better articles than human authors, millions of times faster.

I have long thought it was a shame that only Wikipedians seem to know about Books or Portals, because they are really great tools for structuring knowledge (while everyone loves diving down the Misplaced Pages rabbit hole, we could really do with some better content organization). The outlines strike me as a great way to bring that sort content organization to mainspace, where it will actually reach a large number of readers. I notice that I am the first one to edit them besides yourself, and I hope you know that I do so with love.

@RightCowLeftCoast: Thank you. I feel honored. Please keep in mind that I have not been working alone. Credit goes to the nearly 400 editors who came forward to speak up for the keeping of portals. And although the RfC to delete all portals is over, the job of defending portals from deletion is not. For the portal namespace to be retained in the long term, the portals in it will need to be improved to a worthy quality level, otherwise we may see more deletion attempts. This task is far more than a single editor can handle. Fortunately, many editors have come forward to meet the challenge. Working to develop portals and the entire portal system, is a team of 80 editors who are diligently redesigning, upgrading, updating, and maintaining portals. They are the members of the Portals WikiProject, and without them there might be no portals. They are doing a wonderful job, and I am very proud of them.
