Managed to score several key goals in the European competitions notably in the 1997-1998 and 1998-1999 ] seasons, including a brilliant goal against FC Barcelona when on the 5th minute after recieving a long pass in the penalty box he fired from a very sharp angle (he was on the goalline to the right of the net when he hit it). Successfull performances continued on what was one of the best European seasons since independence of Ukraine.
