Due to off-wiki concerns, I still cannot use this or any other account to edit; however, I see that the username change as is is unfortunately causing some confusion and discussion (see for example ]) and I had really hoped that by now the good faith editors discussing there, for example, would need not worry about me any further. Thus, to avoid further confusion/discussion, I am requesting that this account simply be renamed as "A Nobody". Again, I am NOT requesting to be unvanished and I am NOT planning on starting up editing again. If someone is able to just do that without my formally filing the request as I believe someone else handled the previous name change, that works too as I am honestly not sure when this weekend I'll even have a chance to check back here. I just wish to have Ned's good faith concerns addressed so we can all move on. Thank you for your time and efforts and I hope that everyone has been well. --<font face="Times New Roman">Happy editing! The account with this username has been blocked indefinitely from editing Misplaced Pages, because of concerns that the chosen username may not meet our username policy.
This is often not a reflection on the user, and you are encouraged to choose a new account name which does meet our guidelines and are invited to contribute to Misplaced Pages under an appropriate username. If you feel this block was made in error, you may quickly and easily appeal it - see below.

Our username policy provides guidance on selecting your username. In brief, usernames should not be offensive, disruptive, promotional, related to a 'real-world' group or organization, or misleading. Also, usernames may not end with the string "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

If you have already made edits and wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name you may request a change in username. To do so, please follow these directions:

  1. Add {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. This is possible because even when you are blocked, you can still edit your own talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note, you may only request a name that is not already in use. The account is created upon acceptance – do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change since we can far easier allocate your new name to you, if it is not yet used. Usernames that have already been taken are listed here. For more information, please visit Misplaced Pages:Changing username.
  4. In the alternative, you can "abandon" the contributions under this username and create a new account, which is much faster and easier.
Last, the automated software systems that prevent vandalism may have been activated, which can cause new account creation to be blocked also. If you have not acted in a deliberately inappropriate manner, please let us know if this happens, and we will deactivate the block as soon as possible. You may also appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below or emailing the administrator who blocked you.

And no, this block was not mine.--chaser - t 05:15, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Just to clarify, I performed the usernameblock listed above. -- The Anome (talk) 05:44, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
This user is asking to be unblocked to request a change in username.

A Nobody (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Requested username:

A Nobody (talk · account availability check · rename user)

Administrators should consider discussing any unblock with the blocking administrator (see the blocking policy).

Administrator use only:

If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, please replace this template with the following:

{{unblock-un on hold | 1=blocking administrator | 2=A Nobody | 4=~~~~}}

If you accept the unblock request, replace this template with the following:

{{unblock-un reviewed | 1=A Nobody | accept=Allowing username change to requested username. Please select an option from ] and file a request as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. ~~~~}}

If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following, replacing {{subst:Decline reason here}} with any specific rationale. If you do not edit the text after "decline=", a default reason why the request was declined will be inserted.

{{unblock-un reviewed | 1=A Nobody | decline={{subst:Decline reason here}} ~~~~}}

Due to off-wiki concerns, I still cannot use this or any other account to edit; however, I see that the username change as is is unfortunately causing some confusion and discussion (see for example User_talk:The_Anome#User:B988a4299d07c0f61fbc8378965438f0) and I had really hoped that by now the good faith editors discussing there, for example, would need not worry about me any further. Renamed

Per request. --Dweller (talk) 15:22, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
