In the beginning
I discovered[REDACTED] some time ago, and without creating an account have been updating the pages on Gibraltar, removing the nonsense about 'institutional criminality' and incuding a section about communications, which is my particular interest.
However, it became clear that others were also editing the texts and expanding them to the level that it was becoming quite good.

It seems that someone called user:Woohookitty has now locked out 95% of the users in Gibraltar as he has been upset by user:Gibraltarian calling him a fascist. Generally if you give people power they missuse it, and this is a case of that.
In the days of BBS's it used to be power mad sysops, someone even once told me I needed his permission to start an alt.* newsgroup, he was proved wrong.

There was nothing wrong with blocking that ip range for 48 hours. Gibraltarian has been constantly using ip addresses to vandalize, and this was meant to put an end to it. To claim that Woohookitty is partial to one side or the other is absolutely unjust—how long have you known him? Have you seen the disputes he works with? He is doing his best to be practical and deal with the situation according to policy. You are allowed to be critical of his actions, but to suggest that he is acting in bad faith is absurd, and I strongly suggest that you apologize. --Spangineer (háblame) 17:50, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
Previously I have spent a long time reading the background, and trying to talk to the individuals involved. I also tried to explain the technical implications of blocking the entire ADSL pool of the major ISP here to Woohookitty who did not want to listen and went ahead with the global block, locking me out until bypassed.
He complains of abuse and spam from Gibraltarian - I have offered to deal with this, and can in a way that none of you guys can - directly with the ISP's in Gibraltar. If there is a problem with one user it is overkill to attack an entire country. He does not have WMD.
I also understand the reasons why this dispute has taken place, and why Gibraltarian acts the way he does. As a result of continuous harassment from Spain it is very easy to react to people perceived to be aligned with their Governments dirty campaign. As the saying goes, you are not necessarily paranoid if they really are out to get you.
What you perceive as vandalisation may simply be removing incorrect and offensive material. The sort of stuff I removed was the diatribe about money laundering/drug smuggling/institutional crime, which is both.
see:Gibraltar FAQ
HOWEVER, you have all managed to get one Gibraltarian banned permenantly, the idea of banning the rest of us and imposing a history of Gibraltar written from the viewpoint of a foreign hostile Government is simply not on.
With power must come responsibility and all administrators need to rise above being provoked into taking unfair actions. To his credit Woohookitty has responded promptly to my complaint. However I speak as I find, and if you believe in apologies, the well behaved active users of this service using Gibtelecom are due that, and there is at least one, me.--Gibnews 22:45, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
