If it is actually true then it seems strange that I can't find such a reference to it at all, anywhere. This is quite a serious claim in that it states that the entire organising bodies of the Commonwealth Games and the Indian Organising Committee are corrupt and the decision was fraudulent. A "fact" tag is not enough to justify making statements of this type. Hello to all the economists who signed up on the census (covered in more detail below) and whom I have boldly signed up for this, the first in hopefully a long line of WikiProject Economics newsletters. The aim is simple: to distribute the project's news and developments in order that every member gets the opportunity to contribute to their fullest. It mirrors the ideals of any WikiProject: to support and assist.

In creating this, on a whim, I have picked a name and stolen the layout of the Military History WikiProject's newsletter. If you have any comments or suggestions, feel free to leave them on the ]. The non-talk version of that page is also the place to unsubscribe yourself from the newsletter, which, for the moment, I anticipate will be ''monthly''.

== Nigerian state governors 2007-2011 term ==

Hi, I added back "]" to this template, then tried to improve formatting and added a sub-title. Two reasons: first is that Namadi Sambo has been nominated but not yet confirmed and sworn in as VP. Technically he is still governor. Second is that I think the list should show all governors who held office in the 2007-2011 term, not just the current governors. So when Sambo is confirmed as VP, which is presumably a formality, the list would be updated to also show his successor, Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, as the second governor of Kaduna State in this period. Sambo would remain in the list as his predecessor. I think that is logical? Check the template and see if the new sub-title makes sense. Feedback / improvements welcome. :Sambo is not VP yet, and possibly will not be confirmed (see ), so the page should not show him as VP. As for the governor list, check the template below. There are two governors shown for Edo, Ondo and Yobe. I am slowly building templates like this for different periods (e.g. Yukubu Gowon regime, Third Republic etc.) and think it best to show all governors who held office in each period. That way the bio for each governor will have two navbars at the foot, one showing all the governors of that state, in sequence, and the other showing the governors of all the states during that period. It fits each bio into a sort of horizontal/vertical matrix.

:There is sort of a principle that content in Misplaced Pages should remain valid even if the article/template is not updated for a while, which applies particularly to an area like this where there are not many interested editors. For that reason, I try to avoid "is", as in "Sambo is the governor" (which may become inaccurate), and instead use something like "Sambo became the governor on 29 May 2007", which will remain true. I realize that the article linked from the title of the template gives a "current governors" list, and will fix that to also list all governors for the 2007-2011 term. After the April 2011 elections, a new template can be started to show the new set of governors, and this one will no longer have to be updated. ] (]) 14:33, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

I started ] and was sort of tricky with it. Also with templates like the one below. They both just "transclude" tables in articles like ], so the list only has to be maintained in one place. I am not too concerned about making a new template every four years for the new "horizontal" list of governors. All but the current one will be static, and I think they are useful for someone interested in that period. I prefer to stick with a template for each period, as in the four examples above. The one for the current term will change a bit when governors leave office and are replaced, but not often since this is unusual, and once the term is over the template becomes static so there is no maintenance problem. They are reasonably compact, and I think are a useful navigation aid for someone wanting to browse through the set of governors in office at any given time.

I am not sure about the ] article. It seems way too long for one article, but I can't see a natural way to break it up. The templates at the bottom, showing the members of each grouping of countries like OAC or D8, don't seem particularly useful to me, but maybe someone will find them useful. They seem easy enough to maintain. I would be concerned about redundant information that will not be maintained, but I don't think that is a problem here. ] (]) 17:48, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

:I don't think I understand what you are aiming for. See ] for an example of the way I see the templates being used. There are two navbars at the foot: a "vertical" one showing all the other governors for the state, and a "horizontal" one showing all the other governors in office at the same time. I think these give fairly natural links to groups of "similar" governors. There have been several hundred governors altogether. If you click on the template title ] there is a ''see also'' to the full ]. But the two templates give quick links to the bios that are most closely related. ] (]) 19:48, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

Thats what I meant by "tricky", meaning a neat trick. If you go to edit ] you will find that the content is all pulled in from ]. And if you go to ] and try to edit the section on Anambra State Governors you will see the same. The state lists have to be maintained, but the templates and the overall list just pick up the changes automatically - no redundancy. This is a technique that has to be used with considerable caution, but I think works in this type of situation. :~) ] (])

I do not know why folks are constantly referring to Jnaneshwari Express as "Gyaneshwari!!! The official (I assume everything here is taken from official sources) source of information is http://www.indianrail.gov.in which lists 2101/2102 train number as JNANESHWARI SUPERDLX EXPRESS and not GYANESHWARI. Please do revert the changes which I made in the spelling.

The comment you left doesn't seem to fully explain all the changes that were made. In the future you may want to break up your edits into smaller bits so that you can clearly comment on what you are doing. == Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland ==

Dear Lihaas, let me explain why I think the devolved governments of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland should not be included in the list of state leaders articles. In my understanding they are just the next level of government, like the ministers-president of Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels in Belgium, or the premiers of Canada or Australia. You might argue that autonomous regions are also included in some states. Those regions enjoy a unique legal position and level of autonomy within their states, so they are set apart from the rest of the country. For example the ], while being called a region of Finland, just like the rest of the territorial units of the country, enjoy a much higher degree of autonomy than those, and in that respect are in a unique position within Finland. However within the UK the parts that have their own chief ministers are three of the four constituent "countries" (England, Scotland, Wales, N Ireland), so their situation is rather the rule than the exception. Someone else argued earlier than since it's only three people, it doesn't take up that much space so as to render the list too long. However consistency should be an important editing principle, so one should avoid ad hoc exceptions where possible. If these leaders were included, there would be no argument against including for example the leaders of the Belgian regions, which have a surprising level of autonomy in international comparison, but together cover the whole of the country. And Belgium is not the only such example. As you might recall the republics of ] and ] were united in a state union called ] between 2003 and 2006, where the federal level was significantly weaker than the governments of the constituent republics, but nevertheless the internationally sovereign entity was the state union. And since Montenegro and Serbia had the same powers within the state, neither was in a special, unique position compared to the other. So the inclusion of the Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish leaders would be the first step on a slippery slope where more and more people could advocate the inclusion of the regional or local leaders of their country and the argument for the inclusion of the autonomous regions wouldn't hold water anymore. By the way, I even mooted the idea of deleting the autonomous regions on ], but have not received any feedback so far. So these are the arguments which suggest to me that while not denying the importance of the devolved governments, their leaders should not be included in the List of state leaders article. Hi. I saw your 30 July note on the talk page saying that this article had gone from bad to worse. The reason is that a few days before that another user had replaced it completely with a copy of . Today it got deleted as a copyvio; I came on it via a redlink, was puzzled how an article with such a long history could be a copyvio, and found the reason; it ''wasn't'' a copyvio until 26 July. After a brief intermission over the Northern hemisphere summer season and the Southern hemisphere's mid-winter, ''Positively Economics'' is back. In recent weeks it has been my privilege to work on countering ] with a couple of articles on the economic history of Uganda. Projects like these help, little by little, to open up new areas on knowledge to Western audiences. Indeed, with English in the ascendancy when it comes to second languages, many other audiences too.

Both of the new creations made the front page via the ] section for newly-created or significantly expanded articles. I would encourage other editors, particularly those who like badges, to try to get more economics articles onto the front page through this and other sections. Those with a particularly competitive bent might also wish to consider signing up for the ] (great for focussing the mind).

I'm moving the discussion here because you asked the question, and it's well known to those familiar with the article. The content in question keeps getting added by one particular user who is banned from editing Misplaced Pages due to his unrelenting edit warring. Before he was banned he posted much of this numerous times, and it was consistently rejected. Since then he has made dozens of sockpuppet accounts, the sole purpose of which is to add a growing laundry list of items intended to show that Obama is a liar, hypocrite, incompetent, etc. Although the editor in question is a very cordial, likable guy, the general feeling is that we should not dignify his antics by acknowleding them or allowing them to trigger dissent, somethign that ] speaks to. I have edited the above sentence as:

The above sentence means, in 2004, 2005, and 2008 Quetta received snowfall, but in 2004 and 2008, it received heavy snow more than one time in each year. Which implies that in 2004 and 2008 Quetta received '''heavy snow''' after the period of fifteen years. I think i have make it clear now. And yes the sentence regarding the rain is meant for monthly which i have added.

Hi, Lihaas. I thought I'd explained the edits enough on the edit summary but maybe I was wrong. I removed large chunks of information from the article which just amounted to gossip--essentially the article read like "Saad Hariri said this" and then "Hezbollah said this in response" and then "Saad Hariri countered with" etc etc. It was long paragraphs of back and forth reactions, without any real substance. I wanted to make the article more concise and readable to someone who was unfamiliar with the topic.

I guess I removed the "expert tag" without thinking, though I think the section explains who the false witness (or is it witnesses?) is. Someone testified to the STL that Hezbollah killed Hariri, and his testimony was later disregarded by the STL, and pro-Syria factions have hinged on the affair to deny that the STL is credible at all. Hi, thank you for taking the time to help us improve the article. There was definitely a lot of activity on it the past two days and it needed fresh eyes to help streamline parts of it and do some cutting and pruning.

We are currently rated 'C' across the board. Currency war

Thanks for your message. It would be great to work with others on the article. It might be a while before we should go for FA or even GA though, as I suspect we wont see a resolution this year, and it might not be until another few months till we have good academic sources which summarise the various views and put the current episode in historical context. You've made a lot of good additions to the article, but if we're going to be working together I hope you aren't too strongly in favour of tags? I consider them unsightly and ineffective. There are backlogs with thousands of articles and so IME they rarely attract helpful editors and possibly discourage readers who would otherwise make corrections, Ive had sometimes dozens of corrections in a month from IP editors on untagged articles. Hi Lihaas. I do not understand why you are adding the tag to this article. I think it is very clear what a secular, right-wing party is - it's a right-wing party that believes in the separation of church (or synagogue in this case) and state.
