Oklahoma City Energy FC is an American professional soccer team based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They are scheduled to compete in USL Pro starting in the 2014 season. Prodigal LLC was awarded the franchise on July 2, 2013. Their colors are Green and Blue.
History
On December 20, 2013, Energy FC announced an affiliation agreement with 2013 MLS Champions Sporting Kansas City. Also, recently retired SKC goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen was named head coach.
Stadium
The Energy have announced a plan for a soccer-specific stadium designed by Oklahoma City architecture firm ADG. The proposed stadium has seating capacity of 7,000 with future plans to expand to 20,000 to meet MLS standards. On November 14, 2013, the team announced their name would be "Oklahoma City Energy FC", that they would play their initial home games at Pribil Stadium on the campus of Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School and introduced their team kits and logo.
