Linda Nolan, born 23 February 1959 in Dublin, is an English/Irish singer based in Blackpool. She attained fame as a member of The Nolans which she left in 1983, with her sister Coleen as part of the Young and Moody Band who had a #63 hit with Don't Do That and her appearance on Celebrity Big Brother 13.

Career

From 1974 to 1983 Nolan sung as a member of The Nolan Sisters, where she notched eight top forty hits on the UK Singles Chart, a #1 on the Oricon Singles Chart, a #2 on the Irish Singles Chart and a #3 on the Australian Singles Chart - see The Nolans#Singles. Linda left in 1983 and quickly gained the label "Naughty Nolan" due to her posing in risque publicity photos. The Nolans reunited as a five-piece (Anne, Bernie, Coleen, Linda and Maureen) for one-off performances of "I'm in the Mood for Dancing" first for BBC One's All Time Greatest Party Songs, hosted by Tess Daly, which aired on 17 December 2005 and again on 9 August 2007 on Loose Women. In addition, Nolan has also played the part of Mrs Johnstone in Blood Brothers and has played the role of Maggie May at Blackpool's Central Pier for 10 years, clocking up more than 1,000 performances and toured with Prisoner Cell Block H – The Musical.

Celebrity Big Brother 13

Linda participated in the 2014 series of Celebrity Big Brother. Prior to this, her sister Coleen had participated in and achieved second place in the 2012 series.

Nolan entered on Day 1 handcuffed to Jim Davidson who she had previously announced her disgust for. Upon learning that she was to be handcuffed, she confirmed her "Naughty Nolan" nickname by saying "I like a bit of bondage".

Illness

In 2006, Nolan was diagnosed with a four-inch tumour and 11 cancerous lymph nodes in her breast and had to undergo a partial mastectomy and intensive chemotherapy. As part of her treatment, Linda had a breast removed.
