:I see that makes sense, thanks for your fast reply! I agree with you these are indeed fascinating topics. I've partly read the book and mostly rely on other published sources for my edits. When we add content to articles, we'd like it to be relevant and descriptive for the topic at hand. I'm not sure if that particular text warrants inclusion into all these articles. Why did you call the section "Exposing Dark liquidity" in the ] article? I wouldn't think of Katsuyama as the focus of Flash Boys, the references cited for this are for the most part about HFT practices. I think dark pools are being criticized in the book in this particular regard, as can be seen in this . Cheers. ] (]) 16:58, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
good question, i read the edit log and saw that people had deleted info from Flash Boys, someone had the idea to put it into the article and then someone took it out, then i looked at who did it and it was an ISP user, and not a regualr user! so i decided to add a heading and call it "Exposing Dark liquidity" , Cheers and

:From what I can see, the previous section on Flash Boys was added by AndyL1968 and removed by 1955KennyT. Which IP user are you referring to? The dark pools I know of are available for sending orders and trading like regulated exchanges. The most obvious difference seems to be that dark pools don't publish resting bids and offers while public/regulated exchanges do. But when a trade gets executed, that information does get printed to some price feed and therefore gets published with some delay. On the other hand, general business info about companies that operate dark pools is available as well, so I'm still not clear how dark liquidity gets "exposed" when we note that person X is the CEO of one of many dark pools. I think to expose something carries a sensational connotation, which makes it non-neutral when it's about general company infos that are probably better suited for the article about that company. Do you think the text you added is relevant and descriptive for all the topics at hand? Thanks. ] (]) 18:41, 28 December 2014 (UTC)

===Arrest on corruption charges, you must mean ===
On January 22, 2015, Silver was arrested on federal corruption charges. The federal inquiry that led to his arrest focused on payments that Silver received for years from a small law firm that specializes in seeking reductions of New York City real estate taxes. Investigators said Silver failed to properly disclose the payments from the firm, Goldberg & Iryami, on his annual financial disclosure filings with the state. Similar charges involved asbestos-related referral fees that he received from the law firm Weitz & Luxenberg. Front running, Algorithmic trading, High-frequency trading, and Dark liquidity are all facinating topics ! i am very interested in economics and finance,, and especially programming wikipedia is like HTML and its fun to work with . the[REDACTED] project is amazing! have a great day David Adam Kess (talk) 11:01, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
- I see that makes sense, thanks for your fast reply! I agree with you these are indeed fascinating topics. I've partly read the book and mostly rely on other published sources for my edits. When we add content to articles, we'd like it to be relevant and descriptive for the topic at hand. I'm not sure if that particular text warrants inclusion into all these articles. Why did you call the section "Exposing Dark liquidity" in the Dark liquidity article? I wouldn't think of Katsuyama as the focus of Flash Boys, the references cited for this are for the most part about HFT practices. I think dark pools are being criticized in the book in this particular regard, as can be seen in this removed section. Cheers. Kristina451 (talk) 16:58, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
good question, i read the edit log and saw that people had deleted info from Flash Boys, someone had the idea to put it into the article and then someone took it out, then i looked at who did it and it was an ISP user, and not a regualr user! so i decided to add a heading and call it "Exposing Dark liquidity" , Cheers and
have a great day.

- From what I can see, the previous section on Flash Boys was added by AndyL1968 and removed by 1955KennyT. Thanks. Kristina451 (talk) 18:41, 28 December 2014 (UTC)

In finance, a dark pool (also black pool) is a private forum for trading securities that is not openly available to the public. Liquidity on these markets is called dark pool liquidity. The bulk of dark pool trades represent large trades by financial institutions that are offered away from public exchanges like the New York Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ, so that such trades remain confidential and outside the purview of the general investing public. The fragmentation of financial trading venues and electronic trading has allowed dark pools to be created, and they are normally accessed through crossing networks or directly among market participants via private contractual arrangements.

- Thanks for your patience, I appreciate you took the time to answer most of my questions. The text you quoted doesn't apply to all dark pools, some of them (including the one from your section) are available through retail brokers as destinations to route orders to, just like the lit exchanges. Sourcing
Hi. I notice you added multiple sources to a paragraph in Sheldon Silver that was already sourced without adding any other content. Please stop doing this. Many news outlets will report the same sparse facts. Adding a dozen sources makes it look like you're trying too hard to verify something which you probably believe others may doubt. We only require a couple solid sources for something as non-controversial as Silver's arrest. No one doubts the arrest happened. Chris Troutman (talk) 04:17, 26 January 2015 (UTC)
what a you mean, just look at the references!
Arrest on corruption charges, you must mean
On January 22, 2015, Silver was arrested on federal corruption charges. The federal inquiry that led to his arrest focused on payments that Silver received for years from a small law firm that specializes in seeking reductions of New York City real estate taxes. Investigators said Silver failed to properly disclose the payments from the firm, Goldberg & Iryami, on his annual financial disclosure filings with the state. Similar charges involved asbestos-related referral fees that he received from the law firm Weitz & Luxenberg. Silver faced immediate pressure to resign. One of his longtime associates, Brian Meara, provided key information to investigators in exchange for a non-prosecution agreement.
when will he step down, ! i dont think he will last the week
have a nice day

Irrelevant information in undergraduate degree
Hello David, I've noticed that you've added a bunch of material to the undergraduate degree article about various archaeological sites in South America. While the information is interesting, I don't see how it is at all relevant to the article. I've removed the content, but if you'd like, could you please consider adding it to the relevant articles for those archaeological sites, or creating an article if none exists? Please let me know if you disagree with this. Thanks! Joe Schmedley 21:44, 1 February 2015 (UTC)

Spelling
David, can you please take more care with the spelling of your contributions? For example, you wrote here: "This is important to understand because HFT is just to fast for a humnan and is a strategy that is for the enchanges that are 100% percent electronic." Not being careful with spelling makes work for other editors who will then have to either correct (or delete) your contributions. -- The Anome (talk) 02:59, 3 February 2015 (UTC)
my mistake, The Anome, will work on the spelling ! cheers !! "thanks for taking the time to point it out"! have a great day !

- Thanks. This, by the way, was what another editor was referring to as "broken English". Please don't be offended by the term, just slow down the pace of your editing and take more care with spelling, grammar and use of capital letters, and you'll find that other editors will become much easier to work with. Cheers, -- The Anome (talk) 03:08, 3 February 2015 (UTC)
