He wants to call any regions containing a Turkic people, even though they constitute a small minority, as a Turkic Autonomous Republic. Current requests for significant edits to a protected page

This userpage states that this indefinitely blocked user's block will expire on June 30, 2007. Please edit this to reflect the indefinite block. I would have placed {{Editprotected}} on the talk page, but it is protected as well because of how Blu Aardvark was using it. Request semi-protection. An anon or group of anons with ever-changing IP addresses are continually reverting this article to a version which is of significantly lower quality than the preferred version. Users dramatic, Avenue, SimonLyall and myself have been improving and defending the article. I'm an admin but can't semi-protect because I'm an involved party. Semi-protection: The vandalism is just insane. Today alone it's been hit almost 20 times with pure garbage ("He also smokes Dirty underwear." " He is also a fan of Sponge Bob Square Pants because you know he is gay.") It's coming from IPs and users. Semi-protection - I have asked once before, and got knocked back, but the anonymous IP / new User vandals are still at it. Someone consistently removes a sourced fact from the article (the existence of a previous marriage of the subject), either using anon IPs or brand new users with no or almost no other edits (and a different user each time) to do it, and they refuse to ever give reasons or engage in any discussion regarding what they are doing. And people just keep on reverting them, and they just wait a few days or weeks and then come back. --SJK 23:26, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

Because of the nature of this page and the type of people who flock to it, protection currently seems quite the opposite of what we're trying to accomplish. The plot summary is especially small, and the details could use some buffing up. I think that the main wave of vandalism will have passed by now (along with the main wave of true editors), but we should open it up for those who want to contribute positively.
